Quickest way out of melbourne, and sometimes the cheapest! 4/14/2006

Oddly enough, on international flights it's cheaper to fly out of MLB than going over to Orlando and leaving from there. Now, this might have changed since Delta is no longer flying to JFK, but before that, it was $200 less to fly to Europe or the Middle East from MLB rather than Orlando. It's very quick to get through security, and the plane always leaves on time. Unfortunately it only goes to DC and Atlanta... Used to go to Cincy, but not anymore. more

An airport with great convenience but limited supply 1/17/2006

MLB is a quiet airport that is usually a breeze when it comes to check in and security. However, Delta is the only major carrier that flies in and out of Melbourne. Thus, unless you want to go through Atlanta or to JFK (Dulles is on again, off again), MLB might not be for you. MLB is about an hour drive from Orlando International Airport and is the closest airport to the Port Canaveral cruise ships. more

Not much to do, but then again... 1/16/2006

I had the occassion to visit this airport when I went on a cruise. It's a small airport, but being near the cruiselines, there are ample means of public transportation. It's pretty sparse inside, but after the cruise, I was so exhausted, I slept in a chair until our flight home. So, I can vouch for the sleepability of their chairs. more
