Mekong--a great Vietnamese restaurant 6/15/2006

I'm very fond of Mekong, located on West Broad Street about 100 yards east of Horsepen. It's located in an old strip mall, occupying the space that used to be a disco in the '70s (and where Gregg Allman & Cher were spotted after an Allman Bros. concert at the Coliseum...but that's another time). Mekong scores highly for its utterly fresh ingredients, its helpful staff, and its amazing (for a VN restaurant) beer selection. Lots of Belgian ales available. The food really is delectable. I've been there at least a half dozen times, and I've never had a complaint. Seriously. more

Best Vietnamese in town 2/22/2006

This is my family's place to eat for Vietnamese. Very large menu with numerous authentic dishes. The place is very affordable and the atmosphere is acceptable. Not a place for a fancy date, but a good lunch choice and great for family or friends. Check out the Vietnamese movies on the large screen in the back. more
