Meineke Car Care Center

This place is a joke, I took my car in to have my struts replaced, the initial visit took them 10 hours to get my car ""done"" then while backing my car out of the shop some crunching was heard, and they found it was a bolt they lost that got lodged in my axle, had to bring it back three more times for them to fix rattleing and poping noises from my front end, ended up footing the bill myself to take it to the dealership who found multiple bolts missing and other parts they damaged, causing numerous saftey issues. Paid meineke $400 to screw my car up, then paid the dealership another $995 to fix it. This shop wouldnt do anything about it, and there customer service told me they couldnt do anything unless the shop owner said it was ok. So now I have an attorney to file a law suit over this. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place, unless you really dont like your car, or your money, or your saftey. more

I was using Citysearch to find an auto place to have brakes done and I came across this review for Meineke on Scarborough. It's been a few years since I took my car there, but the 800 dollar bill that I received is still fresh in my memory. Meineke Scarborough is a total rip-off!! Unless u are just getting air in your tire, that's the only reason to steer your car into that den of THIEVES... more

I have never been treated more rudely than at this Meineke location. I brought my van in for them to change the alternator, and the next day I broke down on the side of 270 with my five kids in the car. When I called Meineke they were arrogant and rude to me, never apologizing and Jim admitted they didn't even test the van or part after they put the alternator on. I had the van towed in and guess what? bad alternator. My husband and I pointed out that they didn't even look over the car and do an inspection and Jim said it would cost us $90 to have them look at it. However as I was standing in the office, Jim told two other customers problems they had with THEIR cars and they did NOT pay $90. they paid $20 for an oil change and I paid $429.32!!! I called another Meineke location and they told me if i brought my car in for an alternator they do a FREE courtesy inspection. So Meineke replaced the alternator and it broke down again!!!!! My husband called Meineke saying we want our money back to take it somewhere else and we were told the general manager would call us back and he never has. I also called and left a detailed message and my call was never returned. We gave them both out cell phone numbers. Poor parts and rude service for $429.32 I can't believe it and I intend to let everyone know to watch out! more
