Meineke Car Care Center

my car was towed in because it turned over but would not continue running. I have been to this Meineke in the past and felt that they were reasonable and reliable. I didn't read the reviews or I would not have gone there. I am happy that I went there. They repaired my car and it has been running great ever since. I AM POSTING FOR MY UNCLE. THESE GUYS DID HIM WRONG.\r \r BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! THEY LIE TO CUSTOMERS, ARE RUDE & TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE!!\r \r I overheard Tony saying to another co worker (he didn't know I was at my car inside the shop getting my wallet out of the glovebox) to pour some transmission fluid down the transmission casing. Tony then told the elderly owner of the car (that was brought in for a simple oil change), that it was leaking transmission fluid and that it would mess up the transmission and cause thousands in damage if he didn't have it fixed that day! They were clearly lying about this! I told the gentleman before I left to NOT listen to them and what Tony had told the mechanic to do and that they were lying. I told him to take it to another place to confirm that it was NOT leaking transmission fluid! \r \r I wish I knew who the older gentleman was so that I could find out what he did. I thought about calling the police after I left, but was in a rush to get home. My wife suggested I post here to warm others! \r \r These guys are CROOKS and DEVIANT! I am posting this on Craigslist, Twitter and Facebook, as well as Meineke Corporate! \r \r And as for my service... they tried to upcharge me for synthetic oil they said the new kid working there put in my Accord. I told them to take it out and replace it then and charge me the price I came in on! Tony said I could just keep it and refer more people to them in exchange for the upgraded oil. \r \r These people are a disgrace to REAL mechanics and shops. I am NEVER going back and will tell as many people as I can about this Meineke shop in ALISO VIEJO! \r \r Thanks for your time to read this. more

Probably the worst experience I ever had with mechanics. These guys are LIARS! I had just gotten my brakes changed from pep boys and I needed an oil change, so I thought id try this place with a coupon i got from their website. They first told me I needed new brakes when I had just gotten them changed and they said they had a sale going on. I was really pissed off by this because my brakes look new and i also got new rotors. I told them this information and all they did was shrug. They changed my oil and I wanted an estimate on how much it would be to get my muffler changed. The guy told me it would be $300. I told him I couldn't afford it, so then his manager calls me and has the nerve to say "I hear you're ONLY getting an oil change from us." He tells me he's going to try to negotiate a deal for my muffler. He asked my budget and I said $100. He calls me back 20 minutes later and says he can do it for $170. I am furious because he could have done it for $170 earlier, but instead trie more

I took my 2000 Mazda Miata to these guys for front brakes. I had called around to a few places to check on prices, and theirs was on the low side, because they were having a 50% off sales on the brakes. They did a great job, and my brakes are working very smoothly now. These guys seem quite honest and no-pressure types. Answered all my questions clearly. I will take my car there for the next repair when it's needed. more

I will not be ever going to these guys again. I went in for brakes and they tried to tell me that they were having a 50% off special but it still came to $300 for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee for front pads and rotors (which they said I needed). I didn't have $300 and Luis at Meineke was pressuring me to try and get the money that day. I told him I would try and get it and he said he'd have his driver follow me to my bank! When my husband found out about them saying we needed rotors he said to call them back and cancel the work. Apparently my rotors did NOT need replacing. My husband said he specifically bought expensive rotors that were turn-able. Women and others BEWARE. After all this they stripped some lug nuts and left one off when putting the car back together. Meineke is now saying they never touched my car and corporate won't fix the problem!! They deserve no stars but I couldn't submit this without one. more

I took my Acura MDX in with horrible brakes, and Albert, the manager, was able to help me on the spot. He was also able to get me out in time to catch a play I had tickets for that night! Great job! more

I took my Dodge Ram 1500 there yesterday (4-6-09) for an oil change, tire rotation and air filter replacement. The manager Jim helped me and was very friendly, complete and even asked if he could do a search for break parts to try to save me some money when my breaks need replacing next month. Give this place a try...you'll be happy you did. They manage to keep a small company feel with a big company name. Thanks Jim!!! more

I took my 2001 Honda Accord in for an oil change and brake inspection, my brakes have always squeak ever since i took it to a shop down the street from econo lube. Now its a whole different story! Ron and His brother Ryan took care of my cars, and now my brakes are awesome! No noise at all! Now i am not embarrassed to drive my car. Thanks very much to the brothers and great staff at econo lube! a++ job! more

These guys are amazing to get brakes. They have the quality parts and they charge very reasonably. I love that aspect where most of the guyz try to rip you pay for changing brakes. Highly recommend. PROS: Reliable CONS: none more

I have gone here over the last 5 years and have always found the service good and you can always find a good coupon to use to get a better deal. Just remember to go there early and with a Carls Jr. in the same parking lot you have someplace to wait! more
