Meijer

Meijer on Lima Road has much of the same items as the sister stores in town, but this store has more DVDs and CD offerings than the other stores in town. There is plenty of free parking in front of the store and there is never any problem finding a parking spot. The bakery at Meijer is smaller here than some of the other stores in town but still has excellent breads and sweets. Meijer is a Midwest chain that is a direct competitor to Wal- Mart. I like shopping here better than Wal-Mart because the stores are generally cleaner and have better lighting than Wal-Mart. The clothing and goods are higher quality than Wal-Mart. The items at Meijer are better-made and last many more washings than the competition. Meijer offers more American-made items than the competition. more

I love Meijer. Since it opened 10 years ago, I've shopped here for almost everything - groceries, health/beauty, and home items. Their prices are low and until recently they doubled dollar coupons. Now they only double up to .50, which hurts their value, but I still shop there. Employees are generally very friendly and helpful, and the few times they're not, I let the manager know and he has addressed the situation immediately. Cindy in the bakery is wonderful and always offers my daughter a cookie. They price-match any other store in town if you bring in their ad. I recommend Meijer! more

If you don't mind the larger stores, Meijer is a great place to shop. Every time I go they seem to be nearly stocked in all items found in their ads. If not, then they have no problems giving out a raincheck so you don't miss the sale. The store is always clean and even the door greeters are very friendly. My daughter just loves the .01 cent pony rides. You can't beat entertainment for only a penny. more

A great place to go grocery shopping is Meijer on Illinois Road. The people there are friendly and the management caters to the customer as we are the reason they are in business. I was very skeptical of the business opening in 1995?? But after a few trips to the store for this and that, I realized it's a great saving place and they do alot for the community. They are also a good place to go coupon shopping. The employees welcome coupons without regard and don't make it a hassle to use them. The managers are skilled and train their employees to know coupons help the store generate business. I love the clearance sales and especially enjoy the super saturday sales they have EVERY saturday. This local Meijer always does a "hidden" deal that you don't know about until you reach $50. Kudos to Meijer for making Fort Wayne a great place to invest and shop. more
