Best

I have tried Indian restaurants all over the Seattle area (Seattle, Eastside, Everett, etc) and this is easily one of the best I have ever had. The daily buffet is a great, inexp...

After reading several positve reviews my husband I decided to try this restaurant out. We were craving some home cooking. The food was disappointing to say the least, the services...

Stale Food - Bad Experience - Avoid - Atleast Buffets 5/23/2008

Well, after reading some very good reviews on this website.. we decided to try this instead of the tried and tested. The ambiance was certainly good however the food.. even when you look at it was stale.. still we decided to give it a try.. the food was just awful.. how can you go wrong with even tandoori chicken? It was like chewing a rubber. Nans were not freshly served although the server was picking and choosing which table to give fresh nan at. We requested however we were asked to fetch it from the buffet area. Nothing special with the sweets even (may be it was a wrong day to go). May be dinner time its better.. but I am sure we are not going to go again neither will I recommend anyone. Pros: Ambience Cons: Service, Food, Food, Food, Food & Food more

Loved it.... 5/16/2008

Visited this place couple of times. Food is real good. Good service. I am not into spicy food and I found the spice level was just right for every dish. I have been to other restaurants in Redmond and I would recommend this place. I liked Kathi rolls, butter chicken and rotis. Next time I will try indo-chinese dishes. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner. Pros: Thumbs up. Loved the food. Good seating. more

Our experience at Mehfil..... 5/14/2008

I'd like to provide some thoughts on our experience at Mehfil, the facility, the staff and owners. We had so far 2 separate functions celebrating our son's birthday and another occasion at the restaurant. We chose this in the first place, because of the new management, the wonderful look, the reasonable prices and above all very dedicated management. I have to say both the events went off very well and so many of our friends gave great accolades about the service, the quality and variety of food, the immaculate premises and the personal involvement from the ownership. Top notch is the word. We'll and we already have recommended this restaurant to all our friends and acquaintances. When we went back the second time (after the name change to Mehfil), the place was completely redecorated and the ambience is one of the top restaurants in Seattle. I would say you not only go to a place to eat just for the food but the overall experience and you certainly won't be dissapointed with this one. In terms of dishes, you've got to taste Chicken Biryani. In addition the ownership is not hesitant to introduce items that bring back the good old times. BTW, if you do have any suggestions pls do have a word with one of the owners, they are extremely receptive to new thoughts. Overall, I would rate this as one of the best restaurants I've seen even compared to the ones in say Boston, or New York or California (yes Bay Area folks!!) and of course Seattle. Give it a try!! Pros: Lights on Thumbs up more

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. 5/6/2008

Wow, what a great atmosphere! They have really gone all out on the decorations and the total ambiance of the restaurant. The painted ceiling, hand carved furniture, silk curtains and intricate glass figurines inside recesses on the wall all make for a superb dining experience. The food was just flat out excellent. You really have try their Paneer Tikka Masala. We loved the food so much that we went back there for lunch buffet a few days later. The choice of dishes was great. Along with the Indian food they also had selections from their indo-chinese menu. On that day they had my favorite indo-chinese dish available. They even had four different desserts available that day. Needless to say, I sampled each and every one. One of the cool things about this restaurant is that you can find out what they have for their daily buffet from their web site. I haven?t seen any of the local restaurants do this. They are definitely going to see a lot more of me! more

Best Indian Food, Great service and Reasonable prices 4/30/2008

Last weekend we were shopping at Redmond Town center, before you know it was lunch time and we had a long debate about which restaurent we should goto. We have a two year old and we always like to goto a place where we can get quick and excellent service. FInally we decided to try "Mehfil" which is in the same mall. "Wow" is what we all said as soon as we enetered the restaurent. It was beautifully decorated, we were very impressed with the ambience. Though the restaurent was busy with lot of customers we were welcomed and seated within no time. Our family is a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarians, best thing about Mehfil is the variety of food. We tried chicken65 and veg manuchurian for appetizers. I highly recommend chicken65, you should also try their mango lassi. We are very impressed with their bread collection, I personally liked their kathli roti. I also recommend their chicken biryani, it's been a long time since I had such delicious biryani. The staff there is very friendly and co-operative, I recommend Mehfil to everyone who is looking for good food, great service. more

Pleasantly surprised, good food, good service. 4/30/2008

I have visited this restaurant off and on during my visits to Seattle area during past few years. My recent visit, after more than a year, has surprised me pleasantly. Everything here has improved: Food to interiors. Service: Clean granite tables. Clean napkins. There is no resemblance to the old. Food: One should try Kathi rolls. Indo chinese dishes are a must. My favourite - spicy andhra chicken. Seating: Comfortable seating. We went on a Friday evening. Though the restaurant was crowded, hostess was prompt in seating us. Observation: Given the crowd during our visit, we had an order mix up. Host was real nice and corrected the order. I guess, mix up's happen. We were happy with the way it was dealt with promptly. Recommend to Others: Yes certainly. Over all, I would gladly award 4.5 stars. more

Mehfil - One of the best reataurants I have been to recently 4/29/2008

We recently had dinner at Mehfil. I was very impressed with the ambience and the service. The food quality was excellent. This was a very fine dining experience overall. We went with kids so the variety they have definitely helped. The prices seem to be pretty reasonable. The indo-chinese dishes are highly recommended. Check out the kid's specia; the kids will eat free dinner on Mondays and Sundays (I think) But you have to ask :) -Eloquent. more
