I ordered from this restaurant by mistake. Their food was decent; tasty. But, taking almost two hours for my food to get to where i am located is unacceptable.

Egh! Absolutely terrible! $40 wasted! I ordered here by mistake -- I intended to place an order with Tandoori Bite (the best Indian food in town!), and I was so exhausted from a day of traveling that I accidentally clicked on Mehek's menu. Here was the horrible surprise: Vegetable Appetizer Sampler (0 Star): A big mess of fried dough that looked like a mound of revolting yellow worms. It looked + smelled so gross that we threw it out. Paneer Tikka Masala (1 Star): Even though we ordered it "Medium Spicy", the dish had no taste whatsoever. My boyfriend was so hungry that he forced himself to eat it, though he felt sick to his stomach afterward. Chana Masala (1 Star): Even though we ordered it "Medium", the dish was so overpowered by spices that I could taste nothing else. It smelled heavily of ketchup and looked like baked beans. Two bites, and into the garbage it went. more

A bit inconsistent, but mostly very good. I?ve ordered from Mehek a few times now; a couple of dishes were disappointing, but most have been lovely. It?s not especially authentic ? fairly standard westernized Indian style ? but none the worse for that, unless you?re a real purist. The Lasuni Gobi (appetiser of fried cauliflower in spicy sauce) is excellent; also the Baigan Bartha (eggplant curry with peas). Prices are reasonable by Princeton standards. more

Horrible 12/3/2011

Bad, bad, bad. The whole experience was horrible. The waiter was so rude to us. We were four of us, 2 adults, 2 kids. First they showed us to sit on a table for 6, then asked us to move to a table for 4, as the waiter said that if a larger group walks in, he would need that table, which is understandable and was fine by us. Then there were not enough glasses or napkins on that table, which we had to ask for. Even though I was still eating out of the appetizer plate the waiter took it away, I had to ask him to put it back. The food was brought out, without the naans. What do we do with the curries without the breads? I moved the knives and forks off in the middle on another table, as my kid was touching it and the waiter told me to watch the glasses, which I told him to just take it away, to which he said, "Dont talk to me like that, this is not your house". We left without finishing our dinner. There was no manager in sight, and I am not going back there again. They might be the best eatery in Princeton or in the whole world, I don't care, they are not kid-friendly and very rude. Horrible service. Pros: null Cons: null more
