Worst experience ever! 1/26/2008

We drove 2 hours to the castle for my daughter's birthday just to find out that the performance we had tickets to was cancelled. No call, no e-mail, nothing. Then we couldn't get anyone to talk to us or give us our money back...we're still trying to get our $$ back. My daughter cried all the way home, and we still don't have any answers, refunds, or satisfaction. My advice? Beware... more

All Right, Onto Workman's Comp.... 11/28/2006

Is there anyone out there but me who is sick and tired of not being paid by workman's comp? Have any of you been through the ringer after being injured on the job, and this has forced you into Bankrupcy??? Have any of you been approved by Social Security, but after a million months, are still waiting for a check????? Lets put a stop to this once and for all in Illinois, which by the way, is the second worse State in the Country for Workman's Comp cases, with Nevada being number 1. Lets get together and PUT A STOP TO THIS INJUSTICE!!!!!!!! more

Jousting! 6/22/2006

To see jousting is fun I guess. Groups of people eating with their hands is going a bit too far. It is a very novel place and the building itself is very cool. From the highway it looks like an old castle and that's probably what gets folks to come in. Of course the jousting and all the entertainment is well rehearsed and staged but they try to recreate what it was like during medieval times. Kids will especially like the show. more

Dinner and Tournament 2/25/2006

This is a really neat place to go for a unique experience. When you enter this place, you are taken back to the medieval times! The setting and the great tournament are great at making everything seem authentic. The food here is decent too and it is served up the traditional medieval style - no utensils! Though the food defnitely isn't worth five stars, the experience in itself is very unique and it is definitely a good place to check out at least once. It's a great place to bring kids to as well! more

For Kids 2/20/2006

I was very unimpressed with Medieval Times. I think it is a place that is appropriate for young children, but definitely not for adults. The food was really bland and I did not enjoy eating with my hands. The seats were uncomfortable and it was torture having to sit through the very obvoiusly fake show being put on by the actors. While it is an enjoyable place to take kids to, tis nto really a place you want to visit with your friends (grown up friends i mean!). It was expensive too. more

Just for the kids!! 11/27/2005

I think it is only for kinds. My husband and I went to Medieval Times but didn't enjoy much. But all kids around seem to enjoy it a lot. The food is fine but I didn't like eating the chicken with my hands! If you are not going there without kids, consider somewhere else! more

Fun for everyone 11/20/2005

The price is a little high, but the show and the food are excellent! I have visited many times, and each visit has been great. This is a great place to take the children if you are willing to spend the money. I can't wait for the day my children are old enough to attend the dinner show! more

Fun at Medieval Times 9/29/2005

Medieval Times is a good time for the family but it is more of one of those type of activities you'll probably only do once. It is kind of pricey for dinner (but keep your eye out because they do occasionally put out coupons) but it is a fun show. You'll have a good view of the jousting and the kids will love it. You can get silverware if you ask for it so that is something else to keep in mind. more

Food & Entertainment for the Whole Family 9/22/2005

Experience the adventure and romance of the Middle Ages with a four course medieval feast that you eat with your hands and live jousting tournament performance. The food includes Garlic Bread, Vegetable Soup, Roasted Chicken, Spare Rib, Herb-Basted Potato, Pastry of the Castle and Beverage. The prices are pretty reasonable but you can frequently find coupons on their website or neighborhood paper. It can get pretty loud during the tournament so keep that in mind for children who are sensitive to loud noises. Overall, it is a great family atmosphere and perfect to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. more

Good Show, Terrible Food 9/14/2005

I first went to Medieval Times when it opened over 10 years ago. It was a novel act and something worth seeing. I recently went and wasn't exactly thrilled. It's a great facility, and the shows are well-planned and entertaining. However, the food is terrible. I mean, you want to get a decent bite to eat when you go out for dinner. This just doesn't cut it. I went to a Pirate's Show in Orland, FL a few months ago, and now I realize that these are all basically the same. You always see kids there from schools and they are very enthusiastic. I think it's ok for the show, but don't expect a great meal. more

Medieval Times! 8/19/2005

This is a hilarious night out! You eat with your hands and watch knights battle it out in the arena.. just like in The Cable Guy! You even get to wear a crown haha...the food is nothing special but you won't even notice because you're having such a great time! Its a fun place to go for birthdays, with family, and with big groups of people! Its a little ways out of the city but definitely worth the drive! more

Great for your little knight 8/3/2005

This theater/dinner experience is a bit on the expensive side, even if you get discount tickets. It's pretty fun to wach the knights and horses duel, even though you know it's staged. Kids enjoy the opportunity to see this castle and the costumes are great. You get to eat dinner with your hands - no silverware is provided. At the end one knight is declared the winner. Overall a fun experience. more
