I've been to MediaMax a few times over the past seven-or-so years. I thought it was cool when I was 13-14 years-old, then I wised up, and haven't been back there in over two years.\r
\r
The owner of the place is very rude at times, and doesn't exactly help you out. He never really makes you feel welcome, and even if he does try to help you, it's not much help. I've also seen him being rude and raising his voice to customers before, and I've heard he will even shout at people, unprovoked. He once even made my friends and I wait to check out for over an hour because he was chatting on the phone about his business!\r
\r
If he doesn't have something, he'll immediatly offer to order it online, but you have to pay him upfront and there's no return policy. Not advisable. He got a friend of mine that way, by ordering a different product than the one he was asked to order, leaving my friend with something he didn't want, short $35.\r
\r
Also, a lot of the things he sells are of a poor quality. I've boughten ""new"" DVDs from Mediamax that were simply blatantly used DVDs (which smudges and scratches), which were resealed to appear new. I've also bought a few games that didn't work properly. \r
\r
In addition, the shop itself isn't a nice place. It's very crowded and messy inside.\r
\r
I've not had a single good expierience in that store ever, and I know plenty of other people who also had equally miserable expieriences. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone.
Pros: Decent selection of older games / movies
Cons: Rude owner, poor products, bad prices, no returns, etc
