Med Express Urgent Care

Called earlier in day to ask if they took blood for lab work. Woman that answered, "yes". Went in and told the desk clerk and showed her my script for routine blood work. "No problem, there is about a 1 hour wait". I gave them my insurance card and a (credit card?) and they said okay "we'll be with you soon". 1 hour later of waiting I was finally called to triage. We a went through the normal vital signs. This is the third person to ask why I am here. I told them again to get lab work completed. She said okay and put me in a exam room. After another 40 minutes the doctor comes in and asks why I am there and I explain again and show my script. I am in blood thinners and need blood/lab work done. All the outpatient clinics and hospitals are closed and I cannot make them this week because I work late and travel long distance on a company bus. She says "let me check with the nurse, I don't think we draw blood". And that is when I had enough. I was billed $150 on my credit card until insurance clears. I called both insurance co and my credit card to deny payment because I am not paying for a service I did not recieve. That is all I have to say about this place. Don't go. You're better off going to the emergency room. PERIOD! more

Husband cut his thumb with a table saw ( 12/27/2012). Arrived at the Med Express around 2:00 PM, Receptionist asked injured at home ? at work? workers comp ? We told the receptionist no insurance this will be CASH. You would would have thought we just passed gas!!! Cash....... oh I have to check on that. Another girl arrived and asked to look at the wound. We were told we need 350.00 - 600.00 for treatment. Altho I was standing there dripping blood all over the floor and over $1000.00 in my pocket. I left steaming !!! Nothing like being treated like a piece of shit because I had no insurance.These people have NO COMPASSION...No wonder AMERICA's health system is SCREWED. Agreed, they are a meat market for physicals and people who think they need a physician when they catch a cold. Biz seems badly run and all about the money and looking pretty. more
