Dr. McNeff, while friendly and caring, comes across as aloof and unprofessional. In our year of taking our puppy to her, she forgot to prescribe heart worm medication to him. He is our first dog, and we were under the impression that the heart worm meds were combined with his flea meds. When we realized this mistake, she blamed it on us for not telling her he was not on it, but we reminded her that she was the only vet our dog had ever seen, at which point she looked through the charts and realized that indeed, she had failed to prescribe this med to him. Furthermore, we had made an appointment with her to only find out that she was out of the office that day and nobody had informed us. more

i took my dog to another vet and they almost killed him so then i took him to Mc Neff she was very caring and understanding about my dog she did everything in her power to save him ... and after hours she did more

I lived in the Tuscaloosa area in the mid to late 1990's, and always took my pets to Dr. McNeff. I never had any problems.\r \r I moved away for a while but moved back to Tuscaloosa a few years ago. Because another vet was closer, I started taking my pets to him. Let me tell you, I came to regret that decision. \r \r Now, I'm back to taking my pets to McNeff. Unlike the other vet, Dr. McNeff is in the office a lot and totally available to talk to. I've never seen her be anything but absolutely compassionate and caring for the animals that are under her watch. And to me, that's what counts the most. Every time I go to the office, she is there and accessible (unlike our last vet), and she is always obviously passionate about maintaining the health and happiness of our pets. I would recommend this doctor to any pet owner who loves their pets. more

I had to help my cat/son of 18 yrs cross over & I decided I would go to this vet since she is female. I thought she would be more understanding & compassionate. Was I ever WRONG ! She might be good at research but she needs to stay AWAY from animals that need help. I will never forget the way we were treated & my heart still cries for my beloved boy who spent the last few minutes with me seeing me furious & him being subjected to anguish from a brusque, non-compassionate person. How sad that he went over having that as his experience. I will never forgive or forget this vet. I wish I could subject her to the same treatment. maybe she'd "get it" then, but I doubt it. Stay AWAY from this vet at all costs. more
