waste of time 12/6/2007

I was staying in the surrounding area when my hotel recommended this restaurant for excellent seafood. It happened to be my birthday and I had 2 other friends that flew into town to visit with me. When we first arrived it was 9:00 and we were told that the restaurant would be closing at 10, adament about putting us in the bar area ""so we could stay as long as we wanted."" It seemed as if immediately they were ready to be out of there and we were wasting their time. As we sat down our waitress was very irritated that we were in HER section and seemed as if she could care less how she treated us. First, we were told that it ""was too late"" for the crab legs.......baffled, we ordered lobster. She then huffed that ""she didn't know if that was available either."" I sat there and said, ""well, can you at least check for us""....she stormed off, then returned telling us that it was ok. I then asked her what the soup options were......she responded bitterly, saying ""I don't know, they change everyday."" How were we supposed to know or care that the menu changed daily? She then yanked the menu from my hands before I even completed my order. My mouth dropped. She then proceeded to slam silverware in the corner of the room. I discreetly asked for the manager to the hostess. He listened and promised us another waiter. We then witnessed the same rude waitress congregating with the entire waitstaff......saying enough to allow the group to all glare over at us. Then, the new waitress leaves the gossip group and comes up to our table. She then proceeds to ask us ""where are we from?"" along with a couple of more personal questions. I was appalled at the disrespect and told her we were leaving. She smiled as if they all got what they wanted.....which obviously, was to go home. Being it was my birthday, I wished that I had at least ordered the lobster, eaten and not given a tip so the lazy waitstaff would actually have to work. The rudest I have ever been treated in a restaurant, ever. more

You Gotta Go! 1/26/2007

I Love Mc Cormick and Schmicks, especially this one. It feels like you are stepping back into time at this place. Not only is the construction of this restaurant quality so is the food, the service, the wine list, and most importantly the bar. They don?t have anything behind that bar that you would not find there over 100 years ago. No fountains, nothing coming out of a hose, everything is freshly squeezed or from a bottle. That?s is real refreshing this day and age. I feel special every time my husband takes me here. We have never had a bad experience and I would recommend you find that out for yourself. Pros: Super plush and well built. Cons: I don't like valet and its a bit of a walk to self park. more

Great Happy Hour 11/20/2006

My co-workers and I came here for happy hour it was the best they have a $1.95 happy hour menu and the happy hour menu food is great!!!! The hamburger especially is good it is nice, big and juicy. There was 13 of us our bill only came to $225 it was great. I highly recommend this place more

Surprisingly romantic 1/11/2005

I've never actually pictured McCormick and Schmicks ideal for romantic dinner dates since I've always been accustomed to visit their branches for power lunches only. I was pleasantly surprised when my date took me here for dinner. The staff actually took care of us like we had something extra special to celebrate even though we didn't. The food was impressive as always and our usual night out turned to a real memorable dinner date. The wait was normal and forgotten as soon as we were seated and pampered. Pros: Romantic, Great Service, Great Food more

Not worth it 10/23/2003

Service: Rarely did the waiter stop by to refill our glasses or to check to see if we needed anything more. I would think being at a moderate to expensive priced restaurant that service would be excellent, but that was not the case. Teacups were filthy (sent back a couple of cups that had visible food stuck on the INSIDE of them -- perhaps they need a better dishwasher, or maybe they should check the glassware BEFORE bringing them to the customers tables? Just a suggestion. But they do have good fresh sourdough bread. Food was decent, but not impressed. Pros: Parking, Fireplace Outside Cons: Service (see review) more

A 7 at the Most 11/20/2002

So they have a great happy hour for the cheapies!!! Go only if you are on a budget. The service needs a wake up call and the food needs a tredy touch. Okay! The menu changes daily BIG DEAL! I know the chef can make better tasing food than this. more
