Great convention venue. its close to the Hyatt hotel. It is in a bad part of town. Dont stray to far from the convention center grounds.

Car Show 5/27/2006

I have only been here for the car shows, but it has been awesome every time. I usually go with a bunch of friends to help cut down on the costs like parking. One important thing about these conventions is to go there full. Otherwise, you are going to be spending a ton of money just to get a sandwich. more

Make It For The Car Show 5/12/2006

This place holds lots of conventions throughout the year, but there isn't anything like their car show. This place gets so packed that traffic getting into downtown gets destroyed for miles. The size of this place allows for them to house all types of cars from about every manufacture in the world. This is a great place to go if you are looking for some entertainment. Just be prepared if something big is going on there, because you might want to go by train. more

Nice Center 5/10/2006

I have only been here once in my life for an actual event. But I have many times taken that wrong little exit off of Lake Shore Drive and ended up in the parking lot of this place. All I know is that the exit to this place and the parking structure is one huge maze. But once you get inside, this place is awesome. It is big and well kept and there are plenty of rooms to accomodate any sort of an even, from small business meetings to huge concerts. more

Its easy to get lost here... 5/7/2006

I have been to this convention center many times for a variety of different things. But no matter what I've been here for, there have been two things that I have hated. (1) Finding my way through that maze of a convention center and (2) Finding my car in that HUGE parking lot. If it were'nt for those two issues, I would give this place five stars because it really is a nice facility with great rooms and ammenities for all sorts of purposes. Maybe a map would help...?? more

This Place Is Huge 4/30/2006

When I think about this place my first thoughts are how huge this place is . I also will always associate it with the annual auto show that is held here. The auto show is their biggest attraction all year long and brings in loads of tourists and locals thru their gates.This place is also known for conventions of every kind. They do haave concerts but they are held next door at the Arie Crown Theatre that is probably owned by the same corporation that owns this giant property. Make sure you wear good walking shoes when you visit here. more

McCormick Place is big convention center 3/19/2006

McCormick Place is a massive convention center by the lakefront. It is perfect for large events like the annual Chicago Auto Show. It is a shame that it is so isolated from downtown, as a network of shuttle buses are always used to move conventioneers to and from their downtown hotels. The Hyatt McCormick is the only hotel next to McCormick Place. more

Convention Center 3/18/2006

This is a great convention center in Chicago. I have been here for several concerts and also a few business events. Each time I have been here I have been very happy with this place. It is big and very well kept. They have lecture rooms, concert halls, and meeting rooms of all different sizes. Parking is plenty here and they have convenient shuttles to get around the entire center. more

Awesome convention center. 3/17/2006

McCormick place is beautiful and enormous. You will get a good workout just walking through it. It is a world class convention center. You will enjoy your visit there. There is lots of parking available and things like shuttles will be there for large events. I spent a lot of time there at the auto show. It is a great facility. When you’re walking through the main hallways you hardly see anyone looking up, because its so high, but if you do you take a moment and just look at the lines and the way it is built you will find a pleasing building to the eye. more

Nice and Big! 10/16/2005

With the new Mc Cornick Building, this convention hall is huge. it is seperated by a bridge from the old and new building. I was there for the Chicago Auto Show and the main hall was incredible large. parking is also very large to accomidate large crowds. There are also dining areas in the hall and small shops. Because the new hall is so large, all the vehicles were displayed on one level compared to two levels in the old hall. more
