Mc Kay Used Books & C D's

They basically steal your stuff and give you a card they don't track that will get lost when you finally get to go there. This place is a scam and I regret ever going there. Give your books to goodwill....at least they do a community service more

Get ready to be bent over, these people gove ridiculously low prices for books, movies and games then turn around and charge 3-5 times more in store. These people take advantage of down and out people daily. more

They have great prices on used books!!! I used to go to Books a Million until I discovered McKays...I was like, "What was I thinking? I can get the same book at McKay's for $10 vs $40 at Books a Million or Barns and Nobles." This is the only place I shop for books now. Sure, they are used but who cares? The more wear and tear they have, the cheaper they get as well. You can even find free books in 2 large bins outside the front of the store. I always get there too late though and find that most of the "good" books are picked over (but I found a few). It upset me once when I paid $80 (at Chattanooga State) for a Nutrition book required for a class and a lady in my class said she got the same book out of the free bin in front of McKays. Not only do they sell books, but also CDs, DVDs, VHS, and game systems and games. This is the place to come if you want a true bargain!!! more

I have always loved this store. Chris and I have purchased so many used books here and have also sold and traded here. The employees are young and nice. They have a huge romance section, huge craft section and a great kids section. You can find a lot of the new books there too if you hit it right. If you trade in books, you have to use the trade money for books. Same with the music. I wish they were interchangeable though. Easy to find, easy to park. You can drop off your books and they will calculate for you while you wait. A fun place to spend a little time. more

McKay's Used Books is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Not only do they sell used books, but also CDs, DVDs and video tapes. The offering of books, music and movies is extensive and you never know what you might stumble upon. Books are well organized so that you can easily search what you're looking for and employees are there to help you as well. McKay's is also a good place for trading in old books, CDs and movies. You can either trade them in for cash or store credit. As with most used book stores, you will get more in store credit than in cash, but they offer a fair amount in cash. more
