Good – talented salesperson

Joel Hopkins of Credit Country Motors, a subsidiary of McElveen, is a LIAR and CHEAT. It is evident in both his professional and personal life. Tax issues, prostitutes, arrests,...

Awesome experience 4/7/2011

Awesome experience, incredibly easy to work with and outstanding customer service from everyone in the dealership. more

Highly recomended 4/6/2011

Keith Miller was our sales consultant. We would definitely recommend him to other family and friends. more

The best as far as i am concerned 3/28/2011

McElveen is great. I have bought three cars from them in ten years and about to go see them about a fourth one. They are wonderful. It's the only dealership in town as far as I'm concerned. more

The best!!! 3/25/2011

I love this place....they aren't the fastest, but they are the best!!! more

All these reviews are bogus!!! 3/16/2011

OMG I can't believe this site!! All of the glowing reviews on here are done by the same people that review the exact same companies in other parts of the state. McElveen Motors in Summerville, Senor Frogs in MB, Historic Wilhite House in Anderson. I just think it's very fishy that they all use Gene Love, bought a car from McElveen GMC and had weddings at the Historic Wilhite House. One guy is from Chicago. I don't even want to know how much that Trip charge was!! more

There is just no reason to go 3/16/2011

There is just no reason to go anywhere else - whenever my wife or I have a problem with our cars, Blake and Andrew in the service department help us right away. They always explain our problems fully, and the price is always fair. Plus, if I need a part for any of my vehicles, I can go see Stuart or Mike in the parts department to get the right part quickly! more

Great customer service!!! 3/11/2011

We drove in with our car barely making it onto the lot. They gave us over $1,000 on the trade-in and sold us our new van with a warranty. Great customer service!!! more

Number 1 3/7/2011

I have been going to McElveen Chevrolet since 2003 having my 2003 Monte Carlo serviced. I traded it in for a 2006 Monte Carlo SS. In December I traded the SS in for a 2008 Silverado. I have never been happier with the service and friendly people that work there. Their service is timely and they are always making sure that you are taken care of while you wait. Anytime I have had a problem they have taken care of it. They have never made me feel stupid or wrong. My father was so impressed with the service he started bringing his Chrysler Van in to McElveen Chevrolet for service. He has been very pleased after having taken his van to another dealer in West Ashley that absolutely messed it up. Thank you McElveen staff for your outstanding service and customer relations. You are number 1 in my book. more

Fantastic Job 3/4/2011

Bill at McElveen Auto did a fantastic job helping me with my purchase! I went to 7 different dealerships before McElveen, but I could not have been happier with all they did to help me! more

Perfect purchase 3/3/2011

I got my first New Vehicle here. Everyone was easy to work with, they hleped me through the buying process and made it about as painless as they could. I left with what I feel is a great deal on a new vehicle, I have a warranty backing my purchase and a place to go to if something goes wrong. Alll I could ask for from them. more

Car sold as "Certified" - NEVER inspected!! 9/10/2010

I bought an '08 Yukon Denali XL from the McElveen dealership in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday. Immediatly, I noticed the vehicle was hesitating when accelerating. I took it back to be told it needed a new TRANSMISSION. Why would a "Certified" vehicle be sold only for it to need a new transmission two days later? The general sales manager told me "they never had time to inspect it". So - they sold me the vehicle fraudulently and without due diligence, passing it off as "Certified" when infact, they hadn't performed the first test on it. Although they are offering to put a new transmission in it, I want my trade in back. I never would have bought the Yukon XL in the first place if I had known it needed a new transmission. Furthermore, WHY would an '08 need a new transmission in the first place? There are ovbiously underlying issues. As of 9/10/2010 I am waiting on resolution. more

Pleasant staff attitudes do not justify excessive wait times 4/6/2010

Recently, I brought my Trailblazer into McElveen Chevrolet for a scheduled appointment (routine oil change, tire rotation, & 27-point inspection) after confirming said appointment the day before. My overall experience with the dealership after waiting for an HOUR AND A HALF for maintenance, in which any competent ASE-certified mechanic can perform in a third of that time, is that this dealership operates under the assumption that a smile and nice attitude make up for any lack of professional courtesy towards my own business schedule in performing work in a reasonable amount of time! Lest I forget to also mention that not all services were performed (the 27-point inspection, not done, was a big part of my decision to have a Chevrolet mechanic look at it in the first place), in addition to the fact that when inquiring about the nationally-advertised GM Goodwrench service specials ( the ones currently running online, on tv and in radio ) the cashier responded by giving me a blank look and shrug (about a big promotion her own company is running).... I left very unsatisfied. Speaking with the service manager afterwards didn't help: after replying to the same question several times that "yes, the staff was nice and friendly" my impression that "being nice" is what matters most to McElveen Chevrolet was further reinforced. A smile and good attitude do go a long way in making and keeping customers, but not at the expense of efficiency and respect of your customers time. That, unfortunately, is the reason McElveen Chevrolet has lost my future business. Pros: nice and friendly....... Cons: ..... extremely slow service, doesn't finish all work more
