Maine Med is a super hospital. I gave birth to my son there, and was hospitalized 5 days b/f he was born. I stayed in the AnteNatal unit, and would not go anywhere else. All of the staff I encountered were excellent. The parking lot is small, and often, you must wait a few minutes for a space to open up. I beleive the cost for parking is around $2 per hour. more

Maine Medical Center 7/30/2005

One of the top hospitals in Maine; complicated and difficult cases are often transported here from other hospitals. It's very large and located in the middle of Portland. Visitor parking isn't generally a problem, one can find a space, but it is usually a far walk from your parking space to the room you're trying to reach because the hospital is so large. The patient rooms are decent in size and the nurses are good. The cafeteria is actually acceptable (usually I don't like hospital food). I highly recommend this hospital. more
