Best Bakery this side of 280 - and more! 9/3/2006

Our family always looks forward to sharing a Mazzetti's cake for all of our special occassions. We can always count on the cake to be fresh and taste perfect! My son has recently got us all turned on to a one layer vanilla, one layer chocolate with banana cake. It satisfies even the pickiest eater (which is usually him.) They also decorate the cake virtually anyway you want. So not only is the cake delicious, it's a work of art. Pros: Delicious pastry made to order! Superb supply of pastries always available! Cons: Cash or local check only. more

I've tried a lot of cakes and I can say that this is the place to order. The cake to try is the derby cake. The one that I usually order is chocalote cake, fresh bananas and strawberry with whipped cream and whipped cream frosting. But for those that want a different spin, try adding a layer of fudge on top. I look forward to any birthdays or special occassions just so I can bring this cake. It's always a big hit with everyone. more

I had one of their derby cakes at a party last weekend and it was incredible. White cake with strawberries and bananas, with fresh and not too sweet whipped cream throughout and on top. It was refreshing and not too heavy. Just perfect. I've also had their foccacia and coffee cakes which come in many flavors. Everything is excellent and very well priced. Mazetti's is one of Pacifica's businesses that seems to get its fair share of business and rightly so. They have some great stuff here. Along with the standards of donuts and birthday cakes and pie, they have some realy outstanding selections. Try their bee hive cake. A less sweet cake like concotion with a creamy custard almond filling drizzled with a honey nut glaze. Absolutely stellar with a cup of hot coffee. They have great pound cake as well. These are very reasonably priced and come in all kinds of flavors, cherry, chocolate chip or lemon. They make great gifts around Christmas and at around $6.00 each they make a nice alternative to a box of Sees candy. Pros: Speedy Service, Reasonable Prices more
