Love It 3/11/2010

If your looking for an inexpensive quick meal that actually tastes good Maya is the place to be. I don't think there is a single thing on the menu above 10 bucks, and if you get there for lunch, the specials are under 5 dollars. Unlike other places the low prices does not mean small portions. Everything I've ever gotten has come in a generous portion. They also give you complimentary chips and salsa, and doesn't taste like it just came out of a bag of Tostitos. The menu's option are typical of any Mexican restaurant, combo meals, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, etc. This time I got a beef enchilada and Chile Rellano which came with rice and beans. Everything tasted awesome. The food is simple Mexican/southwest dishes. The meals aren't any more elaborate than they have to be. The flavor is awesome, nothing is too spicy or to bland. I have to say that I do love Chipotle, but Maya is a nice alternative when I don't feel like a heart attack inducing burrito. Ive been to a few Mexican places that I would consider comparable, and the service has also been bare minimum. The service here is really good, your are seated as soon as you walk in the door, and given drinks as you are sitting down, which is something I really like. There food is kept fresh and if you don't get a grilled item, the food only takes a few minutes to come out. I never had an empty drink while I was there, and we were checked on frequently to make sure everything was good. Maya is an awesome place for dinner or lunch, I would suggest everyone to make a stop there and try it out, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. 5/5 Stars. Love it Pros: Great Prices, Good Food, Fast Service more

So good, not sure I want others to know!! 9/16/2009

Affordably priced, plenty to eat, super fast, excellent margaritas. I live in North Olmsted and used to frequent Nuevo Alcapulco, now I drive to Berea for excellent Mexican food. This beats Nuevo threefold. Try it, you will not be disappointed! Pros: All white meat chicken, awesome staff , FLAVOR!!! Cons: sometimes entree arrives b4 I have eaten all my salsa/chips more

The Best Thing We Ever Happened Upon! 1/1/2009

We were in the mood for Mexican and stopped at two other places (both had poor service, dirty, empty seats and a wait) before we drove and saw this place stuck in the back. We figured we were hungry and it was worth a try and we were not disappointed! \r The service was remarkable, the food was delicious, the prices were great and we've returned many times over the last year or so and have NEVER had anywhere near a poor meal there! We've taken my finicky Father there (he wanted to return a week later), taken friends there for birthdays (they've returned the favor), we took relatives there from Canada (they came into town and asked about going there right off the bat)!\r Good to the kids (our girls love their tacos and burritos). Thought we try it for lunch and again there was no disappointment! Lighter portions and same quality! Appetizers are incredible (the Mexican Chili is unlike anything you've eaten), their salsa is better than any other and their chips are fresh and warm, the dessert is to die for (Margarita Cheesecake) and it's all delivered quick! Pros: Value, quick service, food is exceptional! Cons: Smaller place. more

Yummy food! 3/31/2008

I love this place! My favorite entree is the pollo con crema--chicken with sour cream and hot pepper sauce. it reminds me of Mexican Chicken Paprikash--sooooooo good! I first went here because it was close to work, but now I go because it is delicious and reasonable. more

Best Mexican In town 3/29/2008

Run by the family that started out the Cozumel chain in Brunswick, Maya brings their home spun menu to Berea. A comfortable atmosphere with fantastic service makes this restaurant a must see. Free tortilla chips and home made salsa awaits every customer. The pricing of their menu is remarkable for the quality and amount of food you're receiving. \r \r You have got to try their El Cozumel Fajita. Heaps of steak, chicken, and shrimp arrive on a sizzling platter, along with a plate of fresh hot soft taco shells, guacamole, lettuce, refried beans topped with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream. It's heaven in every bite. \r \r Personally, I haven't tried their entire menu. However, I do love their tacos. We have visited Maya about 4 times and every visit has been as splendid as before. \r \r For a dinner of two, my wife and I spent $15 not including our tip. $15 covered 4 drinks and our meals. We ended up taking what we couldn't finish home. Fantastic!!! If you love Mexican, you absolutely have to make a trip to Maya. You won't regret your decision. Pros: Comfortable environment, affordable costs, high quality food and service, ample parking Cons: Can fill up relatively fast, seating not prepared for large groups more
