This park is a typical river park it's best feature is it's proximity to pinnacle state park for hiking and exploring. However the office staff makes this a ""must skip"" campground. My husband and I arrived after dark around 7:30 pm on a Wednesday night with an online reservation. Upon arrival we stopped at the office peered into it from our vehicle, saw noone around and continued on to our campsite. Suddenly a golf cart nearly jacknifed itself along side/ in front of our camper with an EXTREMELY ANGRY man glaring at us. I put my window down and he screamed at me that we have to check in at the office. I apologized and told him we stopped and didn't see anyone in there when we stopped. He repeated himself and spun out in the dirt back to the office. Back at the office he sat glaring at his computer (playing solitaire, and watching tv) and let his equally unfriendly angry female coworker check me in without so much as a hello, welcome, have a nice time, or offering of any park info, maps, or site location. Just ANGRY UNFRIENDLY STARES!!! We stayed for 4 nights and the locals said this is typical behavior for the two of them, and they just try to ignore it and enjoy what the park has to offer. We travel all over the country and it is very typical to get to a park after dark, after office hours, and expect to proceed to your campsite and check in the next morning. To be treated so rudely, ANGRILY EVEN, was uncalled for and inappropriate, but then again I guess I did interupt the attendents solitaire game. Do yourself a favor and find another park close to pinnacle and avoid being treated like a criminal. Never again!
