Matxalen Amezaga Urruela, MD, completed her medical degree at Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela and went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Griffin Hospital - Yale University School of Medicine in Derby, Connecticut. Following her residency, she completed her Rheumatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
She is board certified in Rheumatology and fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Urruela dianoses, treats, and manages a wide range of conditions like inflammatory disorders of the muscles, joints, and bones, as well as, connective tissue diseases that affect the immune system ligaments, tendons, skin, and other organs. She joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 2023.
