We bought a Simmons Beautyrest Fontelina mattress from Mattress Warehouse/Sleep Happens. It was a great, firm mattress for the first three months we had it.
Then it quickly lost it's support to the point where it sags in middle when we try to sleep on it and feels like a mattress in a cheap motel. Now, nine months later it provides no support at all.
So we called the retailer, Sleep Happens (Simmons wouldn't talk directy to me) and they send a "mattress inspector" to the house. He took some measurements of a string pulled tight over the bed, but with no weight on the bed! Sleep Happens told us they won't honor the warranty because it only sags 1 1/4 inches, not 1 1/2 inches required to get a replacement.
They don't seem to care that the measurement was taken with no weight on the mattress. The mattress supports AIR fine, but not body weight. (And my wife and I are both thin...160 and 115 pounds)
My lesson learned is that just because you spend over one thousand dollars on a name brand mattress does not mean you are getting quality. And just because it feels great in the showroom doesn't mean it will last more than a few months.
And just because you are dealing with a well known retailer like Mattress Warehouse doesn't mean that you'll get good customer service.
I say skip Simmons and Mattress Warehouse and look elsewhere before you throw good money away.
