Matthew Owen was born and raised in Eureka before graduating from Chico State. He has worked in the financial industry for over 30 years. Matthew is actively involved in his local community. He is a past Rotary Club of Eureka President, he is an active board member with the Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation. He also volunteers with many local charities and has been a volunteer with the Pasadena Tournament of Roses since 2001. Matthew is married and has three adult children. Matthew writes a weekly column, “Matthew In the Middle” that you can read in the Times-Standard, every Sunday.
