The Best Sushi! 8/5/2002

This is the best sushi restaurant around! The portions are huge and the prices are great. The spicy tuna handrolls are to die for. The chefs are friendly and the service is always good. We order a tuna tempura cut roll that no other sushi restaurant makes. Delicous! Pros: great prices, huge portions, fresh fish more

FANTASTIC FISH! 6/28/2002

Matsuda is outstanding. The fish is fresh, the sushi is creative, and the sushi chef's are tremendously nice. Unlike a few of the other ""top"" sushi restaurants in LA, the chef's at Matsuda are more than happy to make a dish just the way you like it. No cucumer...no problem. Soy paper instead of seaweed...no problem. They recently added valet parking, which is a bit silly since Matsuda's in a strip mall, but everything else if fantastic. more

I have tried most sushi bars in the ventura area, including the infamous sushi nazi (Sushi Nagawa). And what we found was along with great service and a friendly family atmosphere, this restaurant has great food. The rolls are enormous and well created, and the speacialty dishes are nothing short of addicting. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who truly loves sushi, but doesn't want all the swank of a Sushi Roku or Matsuisha. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Friendly more
