Mathews-Carlsen has not earned their good yelp rating. Many of the reviews on yelp for Mathews Carlsen are contrived. I placed a bad review on Yelp about Mathews-Carlsen body shop and it was deleted. I added another bad review and again it was deleted. After a little digging, I discovered that Mathews-Carlsen is a paying Yelp customer. That is right, Mathews-Carlsen pays Yelp for the advertizing. I then added a review accusing Yelp of deliberately deleting bad reviews placed for Mathews-Carlsen and was soon informed via email that my Yelp account had been deleted. I am not the only one that has had bad reviews for Mathews-Carlsen deleted and Mathews-Carlsen is a Hack!! more

A bad experience 9/20/2007

Took it in and got the rear end done (re-paint the rear hatch, part of the roof, rear bumper cover and install new glass). Later that day noticed that the pigment of the paint was missing/fading out on the right side of the hatch. Not a little, but A LOT. Then had to haggle with them about the bad job they did (in addition, on the left side of the hatch, there were had obvious dull spots in the paint that were rough to the touch). After spending about 15 minutes trying to politely point out obvious substandard work, they begrudginly said they would re-do it. Got the car back and the color was right, but I later found another unbuffed spot on the roof and that they had put my roof mounted Yakima bike carrier on completely misaligned. Then on a rainy morning driving to work I had to use the rear window wiper only to see if flailing randomly around. Turns out that they didn't tighten down the wiper bolt properly and now the wiper shaft is stripped so the wiper still doesn't work properly even after tightening. At this point, though, I'm afraid to go back only to have them mess up again. I also noticed a rattling in the hatch and a few months later I saw the trim panel for showing signs of pulling away from the hatch. Turns out that when reinstalling the trim they bent MOST of the retaining pins on the left side! Unfortunately, since I found out about the last item about a year later I don't feel its worthwhile going to them to complain (and my prior experience gafter oing back to them within 2 days was bad enough). Pros: Seemed nice and knowledgable Cons: Horrible repair job, haggled instead of re-doing really obviously mishandled work more
