Great Massage 2/6/2012

I really enjoy my massages @ The Massage Garage. A friend of mine told me about this spot years ago and have been going ever since. I always get the swedish massage and am thinking about getting the foot massage. Can't beat the price. Love it! more

Great massage... ask for Laura! 1/19/2010

I am pregnant with twins so you can imagine how much I need a massage. Thought I'd try out the Massage Garage which is just 5 min from my house. It seemed inexpensive so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had recently had a massage on vacation at the Ritz Carlton spa and this massage was 1/3 of the cost and 100% better as far as the quality of the masseuse. She seemed very well trained and I ended up turning my 30 min massage into an hour long. If you go... ask for Laura. She did wonders for my back! Pros: Affordable, clean and great massage more

No Nonsense Zen Excellence 6/30/2009

For the price, you can't beat this place! I love their attitude of "no-nonsense zen". The massage therapists are skilled and careful. The prices are incredible and the studio is antiseptically clean, no-frills and inviting. Pros: awesome massage Cons: no hot tub more

Great Place To Get Some Relaxation 5/4/2009

I love this place. They have great therapists who know what they are doing. You can always get a great massage at a great price. Pros: Cost Effective Massages more

decent massage shop 9/12/2008

Who would have known Culver City had a massage school where people can get a massage for virtually nothing! These massages aren't the best (they are students,) but it is definitely worth the money after a long day at work. Pros: cheap, different types of techniques available Cons: they are still students more

Ask for Russell for massage combined with energy work. 5/5/2008

I've been going here for more than two years and would opt for massages here over any other full-service spa. If you're looking for massage that integrates excellent energy, myofascial, and cranial-sacral techniques, ask for Russell. I've not found any other masseuse in town who is as effective in combining these approaches. more

You Never Know 1/2/2008

Overall great value for the price. You never know for sure if you are going to get a good massage therpaist though. I would NOT recommend Russel. I would say that I like 1 out of every 3 massages that I get at the Massage Garage. Once I find someone that I love, I try and get an appointment with them again and then they are booked or longer working there. Several massage therapists do that style where they apply pressure in 1 are for way too long, they just sit there pushing one 1 spot for 60 seconds and don't move, it drives me crazy!!! Pros: Always On Time Cons: All Check-Ins and Check-Outs are at the same time, which causes traffic jams, minimal parking, few good therapists more

Cheap and good! 9/21/2007

Sick of paying over $100 for a 50-minute massage? Come to the massage garage, where you can get equally (if not better) treatment at half the price! The massage garage is a hidden gem with affordable and excellent services. Just get past the not-so glamorous facilities, and once you're face-down with your masseuse, you won't even know the difference. Go see Lori!!! She's great. Honestly, the best massage I've ever had! Pros: Price, massage quality Cons: Funny smell, rough environment more

Best massage EVER! 9/7/2007

I have been going here weekly for over 2 years and never plan on stopping. My favorite masseuse is AMAZING, all of my family and friends have seen her and love her. Everyone that works here is great and I LOVE IT! Pros: easy parking, cheap prices, great people Cons: none more

Consistently good massages 7/9/2007

I have been going to the Massage garage for years and have gotten consistently good massages- both Swedish and Pregnancy. I no longer live in the neighborhood, but will drive there because I know I get good service at a good price. Pros: Good Massages, cute theme Cons: these good massage therapists eventually move on to higher priced places more

Great time at the Massage Garage! 6/27/2007

This place is great. I treated myself and my boyfriend to a massage and we both had a great experience. The welcome could have been better, I will admit that, but it is inexpensive, professional, and a perfect massage. The setting of the place is like a garage, with the fixtures and furniture all very garage-like which I thought was basic and fitting. The massage staff was very well trained and the therapy rooms - a perfect setting. I think people can walk-in, although I had reservations. Parking is fine, right around the corner there is a public parking garage. All in all, and excellent experience for the amount of money you pay. Pros: Excellent inexpensive massage, great therapy rooms, easy to find Cons: The sour check-in lady. more

massages too hard 4/9/2007

My back's in pain from having a massage here. The girl just applied way too much pressure even after I asked her not to. She wasn't professional, had a hard vibe to her (I guess it matches her massage style). Not at all relaxing. more

Not Impressed 4/2/2007

I was really excited to check this place out after reading the reviews here, but was disappointed with my experience Pros: Good location, 2 hrs. free parking nearby Cons: Strong incense smell, noisy massage rooms, poorly skilled masseuse more

Just Great! 1/17/2007

I gave my wife gift certificates to this salon because it was within walking distance of our home and at the price seemed like something she could get used to doing quite often. Boy was I ever right! I had previously paid for the full ""foo-foo"" treament at a five star Beverly Hills spa for our anniversary one year and my wife enjoyed it. However, she LOVES the relaxed atmosphere, convenience, and general warm and attentive service she gets at the Massage Garage. The massage is comparable to other places she has been and at the cost it is affordable enough for her to indulge often... especially when I just wanna lay around and watch the ballgame. Thank you massage garage! more

Offended 11/20/2006

I went to the massage garage twice. The first time was great and I had a wonderful massage at an even better price. The second time I went, I got a horrible masseuse. He made offensive remarks about my body and kept joking about it the entire time. I believe that this was an isolated incident and in no way reflects the position of the management, but I'd be careful as to who I allowed to give me my massage. I haven't been back. more

great deal, great massage 12/28/2005

really great prices... and an amazing massage. Caroline was my theraoist and did an amazing job. So relaxing. I didn't want the hour to end. But considering it was only $45 I can afford to go again! Pros: affordable, skilled thrapist more

My affordable escape! 12/4/2005

I have been going to MG since it opened. I absolutely love it, it's my affordable escape. I have spent hundreds of dollars on massages elsewhere and the only difference is the ""fou fou"" stuff, this place has no robes sauna ect. This place is clean, has a cute theme, ""garage"" and the therapists for the most part are excellent. In three years of going to this place I have only had one bad massage. My only complaint about this place is now that they are so popular, it takes a few days to a week to get in. I used to be able to get in same day, no more. They give a very decent facial as well for a very affordable price! My therapists have always been on time so I have not had the issue the other reviewer mentioned. Pros: inexpensive, good therapists, clean environment Cons: book in advance, no frills more

Good for a pit stop 11/19/2005

I have gone to Massage Garage since it first opened. Most of the massage therapists are pretty good. Just make sure you tell them what you want (pressure-wise, etc.). More times than not they have not been on time and they do not make up for the time at the end of the session unless you point it out to them. The atmosphere is nice and has a cute theme (a garage). However, the front rooms are not recommended as you can hear the people in the lobby speaking. They were so much better in the beginning than they are now...maybe being busier, they feel they don't have to have such a high standard. Still, it is a good value. P.S. bring your own music! Pros: Inexpensive, Good parking , Cute theme Cons: Not on time, Loud front rooms more

High Quality, Low Price 10/25/2005

I found the Massage Garage about six months ago and have been back several times. The therapists are excellent, and do a great job of adjusting pressure as needed. I can't recommend this place highly enough--and the price can't be beaten! There are meters out front on Bagley and 2 hours of free parking in the structure on Cardiff, one block away. Pros: value more

  • In Short
Offering both massage therapy and skin care treatments, this affordable, automotive-themed day spa brings a back-to-basics approach to relaxing and energizing bodywork. Bucket seats and riveted side tables set the scene while the cleverly named treatments add a dose of quirky humor: If it's deep tissue you want, you'll be getting detailed. Prefer a Swedish massage? That'll be full-service. Other options include reflexology (Rotating Your Tires), pregnancy massage (Baby on Board) and a wide variety of facials such as the 45-minute Jiffy Buff.
