I have been a customer of Mary's Magic for years and have had nothing but A+ service from her and her staff. Mary has done everything from bridesmaids and wedding dresses to blue jeans for me and my family and her work has always been excellent!! I highly recommend her to everyone!! more

i had 3 pairs of over $200 jeans hemmed here about 2 years ago. Two came back super short and one came back with a 34 inseam on one side and 32 on the other. things may have changed since then but definitely be cautious more

Mary's Magic Tailoring Alterations & Monogramming 2/24/2009

I read the comment warning about Mary's Magic and I guess I can say I had to be stubborn and learn the hard way. Having just moved to Asheville, Mary's was close by and I was only getting one pair of pants hemmed--how difficult could it be to hem a pair of pants? While the service was prompt, I either picked a day when the ladies decided to hit the pipe pretty hard or play musical glasses, and my lovely new pair of 100$ Anthropologie slacks were slaughtered--once a good 5 inches too long, they were now highwaters. My boyfriend picked them up from the shop for me and when I tried them on, he laughed, and I cried. And so now, I too have a Mary's Magic story--and if you dare to go there for even what may seem the simplest of alterations, consider yourself fairly warned. more

Don't get your stuff tailored here. 11/13/2005

Literally everyone I know who has had many things tailored in town has a Mary's Magic Story. And none of them are good. maybe I'm not talking to the right people...maybe we are all difficult people. I doubt it. I can bear witness that I did have a horrid bridesmaid dress delayed and delayed and delayed and then finally handed back to me with just days before the wedding sporting a ridiculously crooked front neckline. I was shocked. She managed to fix it enough to pass...but just barely. Don't go here. It's never worth it. I suggest Pat Jordan who works out of House of Fabrics on Merrimon. Call House of Fabrics and ask for her number. She's reliable and kind, and cheap cheap cheap. more
