This organization has an extreemly high rate of turn over with employees in all departments. Case loads can run up to 33 clients, as well as being expected to lead up to 11 groups a week. The organization has great counselors and case managers, however they have no say- so in the treatment of their clients, and most of them quit after 2 months in order to protect their credentials. The real power lies within the ""higher ups"" who for the most part do not have so much as a bachelors degree. Clients often fall through the cracks and face legal problems due to understaffing. Clients also have gone without psych meds for weeks at a time, resulting in GA. Crisis having to be called. Drug testing tends not to be documented, resulting in legal problems for drug court clients. Absolutly everything is left up to the overworked counselor/residential case manager, who is forbidden to work overtime, yet, is continually pulled in all directions....resulting in many hours of working for free. Services offered upon intake ( do not trust the manager in intake- she is extreemly passive agressive) often do not occur, and many clients who are not fit for intake (ex: clients who are positive for hep. A,B&C, as well as schizophrenic clients who are not on meds, clients who to not have a TB test read) are often let in in order to fill beds, and then live in a communal setting....These clients are then told weeks later that they need to go to another program and have 24 hrs. to leave, and their roomates are forced to put up with the untreated client in the mean time. The main purpouse of this organization is to make $, Management positions continually recieve raises, while credentialed personel (LAPC's/ CAC's) make 14$ an hr. with no chance of a raise or promotion. Clients are often served food which does not measure up to county jail standards, and children are often over#'s in the daycare and the staff is often overworked, and outnumbered. The client/work environment is extreemly religious, with both clients and staff being expected to participate in religious activities in which there is speaking in toungs, and laying of hands...even though this organization recieves federal funds. Staff members will walk up to clients and staff stating-""God was talking to me about you"", yet, they barely know you. Staff members do not speak about attending any social activities unless they are church based. If you are looking for a place to put your loved one for a dual diagnosis &/or court mandated program, try MARR...they have not failed an audit, and their employees stay......but stay far away from this place....
