Personally I'm not a huge fan of their cakes. They look really nice and they always tend to taste really dry and somewhat hard. However, it seems to be more of a taste issue because my mother loves these cakes, however, she doesn't typically like sweets. I would say grab a piece to try it before you buy an entire cake here. I would say that is a different kind of cake then your typical cake place. Thus, try it before you buy it because I know some people really love it here. more

And I have liked almost every one that I've had. The only one I wasn't a fan of was the plain cheesecake, it was a little dry. I don't know if was because it was later in the day and it had been sitting out, or if it was just my unlucky day. My husband had the chocolate cheesecake and loved it! I've also had the strawberries and cream, the kona macademia, and the devils food cake - all very yummy!! I think my favorite was the kona macademia!! more

Very heavy cakes and sometimes very dry. They are very good cakes for those who like very heavy cakes with heavy frosting. I tend to be of a person who likes like cakes. However, it is still a good place to buy cakes from and they are very delicious. Many of them contain some sort of fruit ness to them. Lots of rasberry. Also, its right by the Hawaiian Humane Society so you can also check on getting a puppy afterwards. more

I ordered my wedding cake at Mary Catherine's after hearing many brides rave about their quality, service, and of course, cakes. I was able to go over the details of my cake with the owner, and he shared his suggestions as well. He makes sure that you get exactly what you want and will price accordingly. I guess the only complaint I have (and it's relatively minor compared to the overall service I received) is that when I made an appointment to come in for a consult and cake-tasting, there were no cakes available that I could try out. :( I also overestimated on the size of the cake vs. # of guests -- I probably could've gone smaller as I had an entire uneaten layer that I eventually had to throw out. There are a variety of flavors and the ones I've tried are delicious ~ we got many compliments from our guests on taste and presentation. more
