Used to go to Maru-Hi a lot when it first opened. Then the original owners sold and it was not so good. Well a few years later and a major renovation later, we thought we'd try again. WOW! Dinner was really good. DHH had the Maru-Hi Special which had kalbi, sashimi, tempura (2 shrimp), iceberg salad, rice, miso soup, a dollop of tsukemono, mac salad, and some soy beans for $15.95! I had Maru-Hi Bento which lets you choose 3 entrees. I had mochiko chicken, bbq beef and tempura (1 tempura), w/ iceberg salad, rice, miso soup, a dollop of takuan, tsukemono, mac salad, and some soy beans for $16.95. I was able to take home my rice and entire serving of mochiko chicken for lunch the next day. The atmosphere was a mix of traditional and modern (dark wood furniture). Very nice and the service was pretty good considering there were only 2 waitresses. Cozy restaurant, good food, good/friendly service, highly recommended.
Pros: Everything but the Diet Pepsi was great!
Cons: Diet Pepsi tasted awful.
