Our caterer cancelled on us a week before my wedding and Shana and her crew stepped up and made it happen for me without blinking an eye. They were amazing to work with and the gu...

Since the place moved into its new digs (which are gorgeous), the food is better...but still erratic. Two weeks ago the brisket was to die for...it was just perfect. Last night it...

Some of the best I've had 4/25/2007

Some of the best bbq I've ever had. I havent had bbq this good since living outside of Charlotte, NC when we would eat around Lexington & Goldsboro, NC. If you appreciate traditional bbq this is your place. Pros: best bbq around Cons: none that i saw more

very, very impressive! 4/23/2007

Live in the Belmont/Lipscomb area of Nashville and have been looking for good bbq since moving to Nashville 9 years ago. This place was a bit of a ""haul"" (I dont usually venture very far from Nashville) but it came highly recommended from some buddies of mine. I'll have to say that this place was AWSOME! I was very impressed and cant recommend it enough. It is the best bbq in the area and I'll have no problem making the drive. My girlfriend had the ""shrimp po-boy"" that had this tobasco/lime something mayo sauce on it that was beyond belief! Definetly check this place out. Pros: food & decor are the best around Cons: about a 20 minute drive from downtown nashville more

Slap-yo-momma GOOD! 4/17/2007

Slap-yo-momma Good! This is the best BBQ I have eaten in a resturant, and I have eaten a great deal of BBQ growing up in North Carolina and attend college and residing in Tennessee. I have never tasted such slow-cooked, deep and rich BBQ. The atmosphere is simple...just good BBQ seems to be the message here. I had the brisket plate, BBQ taco and a bite of the BBQ pork. I was skeptical of the BBQ taco but it was probably my favorite with the HOT BBQ sauce. I have been telling people everywhere about this place and will continue to do so. I will not at all be surprised if this little joint doesn't appear in the ""Best of the South"" listing in the near future. more

Tastebud overload! 4/15/2007

I've grown up here in Tennessee. When I used to think of BBQ, I would think of Whitts or Bar-B-Cutie. That was the case until I found this joint. Not only is it a killer hang out, but the food is too good for words. I mean it! I'd have to add a sound bite to this review for you to understand! It's not close to where we live, but it only took one meal to make us forget about the distance. Now we eat there at least once a week. By now we've had just about everything on the menu. Here are a few of our favorites: more

Taste-Bud orga5m!! 4/13/2007

A buddy of mine recommended this little bbq joint in Nolensville TN. I decided to check it out and I was blown away. As I walked in, creaking of the door was replaced by Johnny Cash?s life-leathered voice. As I ordered from the window, Daisy Duke seduced me. All this was followed up with a taste-bud orga5m as I sunk into my first brisket taco. That being said, I guess you could say I would highly recommend Martin?s Bbq joint. more

Most authentic, best tasting BBQ bar-none! 4/9/2007

I grew up in the middle of BBQ country and now live in Orlando, FL. We made a stop in Nolensville to vist frieds for Easter and stopped by Martin's to eat. Let me tell you, Martin's BBQ is the best by far. The pork sandwich is great and made me homesick. It's hard to find this kind of BBQ quality in Middle Tennessee, and this place delivers. We'll make the stop through Nolensville again just to eat there. Pros: Pulled pork, brisket, desserts. more

If you're lookin' for ""Q"", Look no more... 3/4/2007

Best ""Q'"" east of the Pacific and south of Canada. In other words, it don't get any better. If you are in the area, or even if you're not in the area, you need to go check this place out. You wont be disappointed. more

BBQ like it was meant to be! 2/21/2007

I had heard a lot about this place and then I read about it in the paper. My husband and I were out on a weekend adventure. I got hungry for BBQ. We passed 3 BBQ places to check this one out. I am so glad we did. It is a ways from where we live but OH MY was it worth the drive!!! Our first visit was a few Saturday nights ago. The smell outside the place is sooo good! We got in and the place was amazingly family friendly. After talking to the guy taking orders about suggestions (which happened to be the owner-a real laid-back, friendly guy) we made up our minds. My husband not crazy about BBQ had a hamburger-yummy. They cooked it just like he likes it. Not how they wanted it. He also had a paper cone full of chips. Crazy but good. I heard that they cut there own fries. They looked good. Next time. I had brisket tacos. I know that sounds wierd but I had to try it. I am so glad I did. The potato salad tasted good but the baked beans were out of this world. I wish I could go there now. When we went they had a ""band"". One guy on guitar and one pickin' on a banjo. Fortunately, they could play and sing. They had people of all ages in the place - from babies to folks on walkers. The stuff on the walls is worth the trip alone. I am heading back there this weekend. I hope you do to so a great tasting not mediocore bbq joint stays in business. This place has flavor! Pros: food, service, seem like an old friends, parking more

best i've had in nashville 2/21/2007

i'm kind of a bbq freak and have to eat at any new place that comes along......this is the best i've had in nashville. the line to order was a little annoying but the food was really worth it, which i guess explains the long line that annoyed me in the first place. i had heard about it on roadfood (the website) then the food critic from the Tennessean did the article on it raving about it so i had to drive out there to check it out. i had a regular pork sandwich with slaw, fries and a coke, i chose the vinegar based sauce to go on it. i saw ribs, catfish sandwich, brisket tacos, etc. go out the window and they all looked very good. i highly recommend taking the drive out there to this place.....its seriously by far the best ive had anywhere around nashville. Pros: the food Cons: the wait more

best freakin q in, or around, Nashville 2/21/2007

when you can smell the smoke before you see the joint, you know the q will be worth the wait - and Martins does not dissapoint. The brisket tacos are great and take second place only to the traditional pulled pork sandwich with the vinegar based sauce. I also highly recommend pairing either with a side of hand cut fries and cold Sweetwater Ale.... more

Best BBQ I have had in Tennessee 2/21/2007

Great bbq and friendly service! Pros: thumbs up Cons: parking lot is gravel more

Best BBQ in Town 2/2/2007

This is BBQ the way it was meant to be! The pulled pork is the best I've ever had! The slaw is just right - not too much mayo. The ribs are outstanding - and I don't usually care much for ribs. Take the kids! They have a full kid's menu with plenty of choices. Martin's is definitely worth the drive to Nolensville! more

Great food and music 2/1/2007

I'm from a small town outside of Memphis and this is the best BBQ by far I've found in Nashville. The brisket is outstanding and the everyone should try the Brisket Chilli. If you're in Nolensville on a Saturday night, stop by and check out the music and have a bucket of Fall City beer. more

Best BBQ in the state! 1/31/2007

You have got to check this place out ! ! ! Best southern BBq to be found anywhere... Pros: The food and the beer Cons: waiting in that line more

The ONLY, and I mean ONLY, REAL BBQ around!!! 1/30/2007

I have lived in the Middle-TN area since 1996, have eaten BBQ all over the South, and I can assure you there is NO BETTER BBQ ANYWHERE, PERIOD!!! From the pulled pork, to the ribs, to the brisket, it is simply the best BBQ you can get!! more

Ribs Worth the Drive 1/17/2007

I'm not a die-hard bbq fan, but I have to say that I will certainly take the time to drive out to Martin's BBQ Joint for the ribs. If you are a vegetarian, you might want to quit reading....the meat is so tender and tasty. The sauce is incredibly good, and I think I could eat these for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Other menu items I've had, especially the brisket, is outstanding. I would highly recommend taking a field trip to Nolensville to try it out. The atmosphere is very relaxed - and if you go on Saturday, you can catch some good tunes. I personally haven't been able to listen to the music yet, but I hear very good things about it as well. more

great atmosphere and the food aint too bad either 12/6/2006

A little bit out there, but worth it. The atmosphere is the best around outside of Robert's in downtown Nashville- you can take a gander of pictures of waylon, cash and the duke boys while you scarf down some tasty BBQ and a blue collar beer of your choice(big ups for serving PBR and Old Style). I ate the ribs and was fairly surprised, ribs are actually tough to get right- and they were better than any of the standard fare at Chilis or O'Charleys(but, maybe not as good as Famous Dave's). The beans were spicy and oh so tasty. The cost was very reasonable as well. Get a license to serve Jack Daniel's and get some hot waitresses- this place could be hotter than sunburn. Pros: awesome beer selection- PBR, Old Style and Strohs. Beans and sauce are killer too. Cons: location, need some hot chicks as servers more

Southern food the way God intended... 12/6/2006

The BBQ pork and sauces are excellent as is the brisket (and I'm not much of a brisket fan). All the sides are great, especially the potato salad. There's lots to choose from on the menu, so if you're not a BBQ fan you'll have plenty of alternatives. I hear the etouffee is good. Of course, the icing on the cake (or moon pie) is the excellent domestic beer selection: in addition to the usual Bud and Coors products there's PBR, Old Style, and Stroh's. The service is always perfect and friendly. Pros: Food, drink selection, ambience, service more

Best BBQ in Nashville 12/5/2006

The best BBQ I've had in middle TN and pretty much anywhere. It's a true ""joint"" from the PBR and Fall City in cans to the Dukes of Hazzard gameboard hung on the wall. I suggest the ""Brisket Tacos"" with a PBR and a moonpie. Pros: beer selection, more
