I've had other therapists but still never really felt like I accomplished any real life changes but it has always been a pleasurable self improvement process. I started to feel more depressed lately and it had began to affect my work performance. I wanted to get this resolved quickly before anything at work got worse. I searched and ran accross Dr. June Martin in San Mateo, California. She was able to really give me a quick comfort feeling as she seemed to read my mind on the first session. My second session she had me do some psychological tests which were a bit long and a lot of work on my brain. To my surprise my next weekly session she and I worked out a therapy plan and goals. I think the combination of her years of very broad experience and the psych testing gave her an amazingly quick ability to diagnose and come up with a treatment plan. The next month was a lot different than my previous therapy experience. Rather than making me feel like a friend at a bar whom is willing to chat or more like let me chat all day, she was friendly and easy going but very direct and to the point. She confronted me with my issues and when I drifted she kept the sessions focused. I was also a bit grumpy about having to do homework exercises. I was amazed though at how my work situation changed quickly and I felt good again about going to work and life in general.
