I purchased a sofa and loveseat from Martin Fine Furniture and the rest is a complete nightmare. Upon arrival, I was very satisfied with my purchase. However, after about 4-5 months of having the furniture (Basset), I noticed that the edges of both pieces were threadbare. I contacted Martin Furniture, explaining to them what I found only to be met with unacceptably rude behavior. The person with whom I spoke actually hung up on me. Yes, HUNG UP ON ME. When I called back to find out who this was, I was told it was the owner. At that point I felt defeated since you cannot really complain to anyone else. I finally got someone to come out to my house to take a look at the furniture, along with a Basset representative. They found that the padding was not correctly installed under the fabric, causing it to rub it bare. I told the Martin furniture representative that was at my house (the owner's son it turns out) how dissatisfied I was with the way I was treated. He was somewhat empathetic and gave me the impression that the owner was rude often. I had also emailed Basset furniture to let them know of my experience and showed the Basset Rep. a copy of what was sent. He literally snatched it from my hands, walked out of my house and said that he would take that. I had to follow him outside, practically running and snatch it back out of his hands. I was told I would get a replacement sofa to have something to sit on while mine were being repaired, which never happened. I can't believe this place stays in business. By the way....awfully curious that two of the positive reviews say the exact same thing? Apparently they can't get enough good reviews so they just review themselves.
