Great People, Great Place, Great Food, Great Prices and not to mention Great Hookah 12/8/2006

Okay, so here is how it goes. Having just relocated to the Triangle area I was in the search for a nice hangout a place to socialize with people, have a quick snack and smoke some Hookah. That is when I came upon Marrakesh Cafe. Their location is great, right across the street from NCSU. Their service is superb. Their Food is selection should please everybody vegetarians really should check the place out, they have amazing Hummus, Baba Ghanouj along with many other Morrocan foods. Their wraps are fresh made, taste great and are really stuffed. The people that work there are extremely friendly. Their decor is something that is out of a movie the place is definately an ideal setting for a romantic date. They have a really full house on weekends with the belly dancer shows on Friday and Sunday nights. They play nice mellow Morrocan tunes to the background of your Hookah smoking. Which is I have got to say really fun. You can choose from many flavors including Apple, Strawberry, Peach etc etc...and for $6 for two people that has got to be the most affordable thing two people can do for almost an hour. Pros: Thumbs up all the way. Cons: Parking might be a slight issue sometimes. more

best hookah lounge in the triangle 9/10/2006

The Moroccan decor as well as the food might best be described as fantastics. Bringing together the flavors of Africa, the Mediterranean to Raleigh, this is a great spot to try new foods. Never had a hookah ? Settle down Moroccan pouff pillow on the floor and smoke and enjoying a Moroccan teapot with fresh mint. Friday and sunday my favorite days that where they have a belly dance show. go here... You won't be disappointed! Pros: Thumbs up and up, best international music more

excellent place to relax 9/8/2006

I suggest that if you have not been to this place, you need to go, just remember its really all about smoking hookah. I service is slow, the food, drinks, teas, hookah are excellent. I suggest not to go on Sunday evenings, way to crowded. more

All around great place! 8/1/2006

Marrakesh is a great, relaxing place for students and non-students alike to congregate and casually socialize over a hookah. The owner and employees are friendly and courteous; they are more than willing to accomodate special requests on food items if these are necessary. The fare at Marrakesh is great for both vegetarians and meat eaters, and the Middle Eastern pastries are awesome! Pros: Service, Ambience, Food Cons: Loud music makes it hard to talk to anyone during busy hours more

Always entertaining, great atmosphere, good company. 8/1/2006

You'll be hardpressed to find a better place to end the week, between belly dancing on Fridays and Sundays, music every night, good food and spirits, there are few better places to go to relax and enjoy yourself. Pros: Atmosphere, service Cons: Small, gets hot pretty quickly when packed. more

Chill Atmosphere 7/31/2006

I just recently began enjoying the Hookah experience, i had a friend who's family owned one and i fell in love instantly. Then almost immediately i kept hearing about a hookah lounge near NC State. I decided to go check it out and of course it was all i could have hoped for. Anyone who appreciates hookahs should definitely check this place out, especially any new college kids about to attend NC State. more

hookah for life 7/30/2006

Marrakesh intorduced me to the hookah culture with quality tabacco and live dancers. The atmosphere is great, with many friendly people to chat with. There is a great selection of tabacco flavors and the water pipes are top notch. The eats a fantastic too. The baclava and wraps are high quality and authentic. Anyone who wants a great time, good smokes, and amazing eats should check out marrakesh hookah cafe. Pros: service, atmosphere, tabacco more

Hookah, amazing service, great food, greatness in one place. 7/18/2006

If you havent been to the Marrakesh Cafe you must go. Amazing food, excellent service, an atmosphere giving you the feeling of being in Morroco, and definatly the hookah. The only cafe ill smoke a hookah at. Bring all your friends. Sundays and Fridays, belly dancer nights. The music is blastin and everyone is getting into the fun. After a hard day of work or school, head over the the Marrakesh cafe, order up a mint tea, and a hookah. You'll feel great, and you'll definatly be going back. Pros: Hookah, service, atmosphere Cons: none, parking can be a hassle, but not a problem. more

Great Atmosphere, excellent service, only one of its kind in town! 7/18/2006

The Marrakesh Cafe is the place to be. It has everything from excellent food to great music. There's never a dull moment at the when you're at the Marrakesh Cafe. Whether you decide to visit on Friday or Sunday nights to see the belly dancers, or any other night, you are in for a great time. If you are going for the hookah and flavored tobacco (like myself), this place provides excellent service, a variety of tobacco flavors and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit if you are ever on Hillsborough Street, it's definately worth it. Pros: The Hookah smoke is smooth and cool, the way it should be as opposed to other places. Cons: None! more

Great experience anyday of the week 7/10/2006

Merrakesh Cafe is by far the most cultural and enjoyable experiences I have had in a long time. It has an intimate setting with great music that ranges from melodic slower songs to fast paced dance tunes. It is the place to be on a weekday or a weekend to just chill with a group of friends, or make new ones in the friendly environment. The food and drinks are first rate and only come second to the high quality hookah and flavored tabacco. All the hookahs smoke smoothy opposed to other bars I have been to, and the service is excellent. If anyone in the area is looking for an evening that is relaxing but still fast paced, I would definitely check it out. Pros: Low cost, good service, quality tabbacco Cons: There isn't one next to my house more

Best spot in Raleigh 6/26/2006

The Marrakesh Cafe is the best spot in Raleigh to satisfy any variety of entertainment that you desire. For those of you who want to sit back and relax or just chill with some friends, there is no better place in Raleigh than the Marrakesh. It is an awesome cultural experience with a large arrangement of rich Mediterranean food and hookah flavors to put you at ease (awesome for a first date). And for those of you who want to dance the night away, the Marrakesh is the place to be on Sunday nights where you can try your luck with a professional belly dancer. So whether your looking for a chill spot or a party spot the Marrakesh Cafe can satisfy your hearts desire. Don't miss out on the fun! Pros: awesome location right on Hillsborough more

TERRIBLE 3/7/2006

I was so excited to have a hookah place here in NC. We lived in DC and would always go to them. What a horrible place!! The service was the worst I have seen in my whole life. I really could not believe how rude the waiter was. I actually went back for a second time thinking they had a bad night the last time I went, boy was I wrong. I would never go back and have informed everyone I know not to go to such a place. They need to hire better help. Pros: decorations Cons: everything more
