From the greeting at the door to the personal goodbye, this is an experience that will transport you to another place, as you are invited to partake in a feast in a Moroccan home....

Food is ok, but the wait staff are just a few high school kids who could care less about you. I'm no belly dancer connoseur, but it was one reason we came. The belly dancer look...

Marrakesh The Best 12/23/2003

Last week we went my wife and I to the most exciting place in Philadelphia, The Marrakesh Restaurant, the autentic moroccan place in the city of Philadelphia. That was the most delicious courses we've ever had since we mooved to Philadelphia. And between the 4th & the 5th course, they washed our hands again with rosewater and they give us hot towels to wipe our hands with. And at the end they brought us cups for mint tea and they did poor it in an extraordinary way, so you can smell the mint and watch the tea going from the container hold by the waiter -I can say 5 feet high from the cup without a drop-. All i have to say is everything was fantastic. And I can tell everyone who wants to have a delicious meal to go to The Marrakesh Restaurant. more

What a great restaurant 10/6/2003

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was great and the service was the best in phili. The decor in the restaurant makes you feel like you are in another world. I felt like I was in the real Marrakesh for the 2 hours I was there. I have been to the other restaurants in phili but nothing compares to the Marrakesh it is the original. If you want to eat good food and feel like your in a different world go to the Marrakesh. Pros: food, service, ambiance Cons: none, none, and none more

Like stepping into a fantasy 1/17/2003

WOW! I just discovered this place and heard it's been around for decades. Walking into Marrakesh is like stepping into a fantasy where everything is soft and colorful. Where someone else washes your hands and you can lick your fingers after every bite. It's really quite exotic. The food is delicious, every course is better than the next. Great service too; the people are friendly and attentive. It was an excellent experience, I loved it and I will certainly go back. Pros: Great Fun, Comfortable, Inexpensive Cons: Hard to park, Hard to find more

Escape for an hour 12/27/2002

I have to say this is one of my favorite resturants! The service has always been excellent, atmosphere exotic, food delicious and portions ample, wear elastic waist clothing to this one! I have been going here periodiclly for about 5-6 years and it has been consistant each time.I have never been disappointed though I do recommend not wearing anything too dressy (high heels, tight or short skirts) the seats are kinda low to the ground and filled with pillows so it is hard to sit lady like and you are eating with your hands so that can get messy but it's ALOT of fun! Pros: ambience, food, fun Cons: dress casual!! more

A hidden jewel 10/30/2002

Off a small alley, you'll be buzzed into a secret part of Morocco brought to Philadelphia. Excellent food, outstanding service and atmosphere. The dining area hosts only a handful of parties at a time. Beautiful and comfortable decor. You won't be disappointed. Pros: Excellent food, Private atmosphere, Personal service more
