A great rare sales experience. 5/18/2011

Tim McIntyre and Tim Hollway have sold several automobiles for myself and my family in the past 5 years. They not only offer great prices but the detail in going over the vehicles are second to none. They realize that its not a one shot deal when the sale is over. They have formed a realtionship with me through the years with myself and my family. The service department is also very knowledgeableand helpful.\r \r \r \r \r \r more

Great Service!!!!! 5/14/2011

Great Service....\r Our Salesman Tim McIntyre was a great person to work with. They did not have the exact model of Acadia we were looking for, but Tim and the staff at Marquardt worked to find it. Even after sale, the follow up was great, and the service department is very professional. Of course the free car washes are an incredible bonus. more

Wonderful Experiance Ask For Tim McIntyre 5/9/2011

What a great experiance at this dealer.\r \r Our salesman Tim did an outstanding job in making sure we were completely satisified with her purchase of a new car. I would refer this dealer as well as TIm to anyone shopping for a new car. \r \r Tim took the time to make sure we understood every feature of the car at time of delivery .\r \r Thanks for a great Experiance\r \r \r more

great experience 4/28/2011

Upon car searching, I happened to end up at Marquardt of Barrigton. I am glad I did. The service was exceptional. All me questions were answered and I never felt so comfortable at a car dealership. Cara Cannon did a great job of putting my needs along with my wife's needs of everything. She is a great asset to Marquardt of Barrington. Would visit this dealership again. \r \r Thanks more

Best car buying experience by Carolyn Buchach 4/20/2011

The process of buying a new vehicle can be daunting to say the least!\r \r After looking through numerous publications on the best value in SUV's for 2011, I made the decision that the Buick\r Enclave was the right vehicle for me and my job as a sales rep.\r \r After several negative experiences with\r suburban Buick dealerships, ( pressure to buy the Enclaves on their lots without the features I wanted) my husband and I realized there was a Buick dealer we had not yet visited, Marquardt of Barrington.\r \r It was about an hour before closing and as\r we walked through the lot, we were greeted by Cara Cannon. She restored my faith that there are thoroughly honest and professional automobile sales personnel.\r \r With Cara's assistance we were able to\r find the exact Enclave I wanted, pay a fair price and get the purchase consummated quickly. What a pleasant surprise! I would definitely go back to Marquardt both for the sales experience as well as their service team.\r \r I need to add an addendum here...I inadvertently typed in Marquardt as the reviewer (your site really needs to address the confusing way you create an account and write a profile!!!) I, Carolyn Buchach, wrote this review\r of Marquardt and Cara as a tribute to their \r exemplary dealership. Hope this clears up\r any confusion!! more

Great deals new and used 4/20/2011

Wow! What a place! And the service was Out standing! Tim Mcintyre bent over backwards to make my deal happen! Tim treated me as a friend not just a buyer. I will always make Marquardt of Barrington the first place I shop for a new or used vehicle! more

Great Service with integrity! Ask for Tim McIntyre 4/19/2011

Tim McIntyre took the time to walk through my options with me. I originally went there to test drive a few used buick suv's and thier new out of my price range suv. They encouraged me to try all my options, including some other used cars on the lot. I was more than trilled to find my current car that had been recently traded in by a doctor in the area was a viable option. It had low milage, a great price tag and exactly what I was looking for. Tim went above and beyond to make sure that this used subaru tribeca was a good fit for me and my daughter. So happy that I went to Marquardt where integrity is real, and great service is still a priority. more

Best GMC Dealer in the World!! Ask for Jay Davis 4/14/2011

My husband and I had been looking for a GMC Acadia Denali and visited a few GMC dealers in the NW Suburban area. We live in Crystal Lake and don't mind driving a little ways to get good treatment and fair pricing. Our visits to the Crystal Lake, Elgin, McHenry and Arlington Heights dealers had ended in disappontment. We met a few nice people, but didn't get the deal or treatment we wanted. It always fell apart somewhere along the way.\r We're not psyco-shoppers, but we do like to spend our money where we are treated well and get a fair shake. \r We spent our hard earned dollars at Marquardt and recommend the experience to anybody that can drive there.\r Like some of the other reviews say, it IS a nice clean place, modern and well-lit. If you've been to some of the other dealers, this place looks like a spaceship!\r Ask for Jay Davis, he has lots of car knowledge and will take the time (as much as you want, believe me!) to explain everything about the cars. He went over the specifics of the deal and the vehicle in every detail.\r I feel we were treated honestly and fairly, with no ""man behind the curtain"" tricks. more

Great Deals & Nice Salespeople (not pushy) 12/9/2010

We received a great deal on our Buick Enclave and Jay Davis was nice to work with. No pressure tactics at this dealership. They are fair and easy to work with. We've also had fine service so far. Our DVD player stopped working and it was quickly replaced. We love the free car wash - it is close to our home and convenient. Finally, the dealership also sponsors charitable events and the arts in the area which is really nice, especially in this economy when charitable contributions are running so low. They give back to the community. The dealership next door to them declined to contribute, unlike Marquardt. All this aside, they are easy to deal with, fair, not pushy, and we had a great experience there. more

BEST & Cleanest dealership EVER!!! 10/8/2010

My family & I have been to a LOT of dealerships in our time & this is by far the BEST & cleanest ever!!\r \r The employees are so nice, from the sales people to the service/parts people. \r \r I was impressed from the time I stepped in the door, to the time I left. They accomodate you for everything. You get water, pop, hot chocolate, tea, coffee & free red licorice. Their motto is: ""Grab a handful of licorice & drive."" They also have a ""waiting"" area upstairs, (play area for the kids) downstairs & a car wash.\r \r I cannot say enough about the Marquardt Brothers either. I believe they are honest & loyal & make a special effort with ALL of their customers regardless of their gender, age or race. more

Great Experience!!! 10/8/2010

Wow, what a beautiful dealership. I don't know what that other guy is talking about from the previous review, everyone at this dealership is FANTASTIC!!! Can't please everyone I guess. The service and sales dept is top notch. You can really tell that they care about their customers and make every effort to make you comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy or service their vehicle, you won't be disappointed! more

Marquardt & Ray Linnemann are great! 9/24/2010

I just bought a car at Marquardt of Barrington and I was blown away at the great service and great price. I was afraid that buying in Barrington would cost too much, but he was the cheapest of all the dealers. I bought the car from Ray Linnemann and he was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this dealership and especially Ray to anyone. I will definitely buy there again. more

Great customer service, great people! 9/24/2010

As a long time customer, I have always been pleased with my experience with all levels of the dealership staff. I have purchased several vehicles throughout the years, including my very first one from Larry Marquardt back when they sold Opels. I look forward to my next purchase, but for now its nice just using the free car wash to make the ones I own look clean and shiny.\r You can't go wrong here, check it out for yourself. more

Miguel Sanchez here is great! 8/21/2010

We had shopped many GMC dealers and hadn't had many positive experiences. We stopped here and had a very postive experience. Miguel was very nice, never put pressure on us and was very professional. more

Stay away from this dealer 6/30/2010

If someone looking to buy a car, please do not go to this place. The sale man and the manager are so rude when you start to negotiate the price, they did not allow to me talk. If you are Hispanic or Asian better stay away. they want you to buy their cars from the sticker price. i was lucky that i did not buy a car from them. I gave them one star because they were nice to me before we started to negotiated the price. Cons: worst place dealership ever more

Thank You Marquardt of Barrington!! 5/12/2010

Thank You Marquardt of Barrington! \r \r I want to thank the service department at Marquardt of Barrington. \r I had several warning lights on my dash (ABS and Traction Control and something else) and had taken my car to a couple service places. I had been told that there were several sensors and a wheel bearing that had to be replaced, and that it could cost $700 - $1200 to fix these things. I couldn't afford that. Normally I wouldn't go to a Dealer since everyone tells you they cost too much for service, but at this point I had nothing to lose so I took it in to the dealership. \r They told me there was nothing wrong with the wheel bearing hub or the ABS sensor. There was a loose ground wire causing the warning lights to come on!! \r Total Cost= $180. \r Taking your car to people who know what they are doing?= Priceless!! \r Thank you Mike and Kurt in the service department! \r Carol Pros: Quick, accurate service at a good price more

Beware of this dealership and their staff 9/15/2009

The technicians at this dealership admittedly missed a serious problem worth $400 with my car before selling it to me, and now I am stuck with the bill. This indicates to me that they were either not as thorough as they could have been checking the car before selling it to me, or they are not being completely truthful with me. Either way their technicians made feel as if it was my fault for not checking the car thoroughly enough myself in the first place. Note that I took this ot another GM dealership to fix the problem, and they told me the problem had to start before I bought the car. Most people I ask agree that they should have taken care of this problem at Marqaurdt, and most people tell me it is very unlikely they did not know about this mechanical problem while they had the car. The problem was a very loud noise coming from the rear on sharp turns. When I tested teh care I didnt take a sharp turn because I followed the route the sales person told me to follow to test the car. As you can imagine there were no sharp turns in the suggested path. Either way, Marquardt will not pay for the repair. Beware of how they repair your car. Obviously they miss critical things that can be costly to you down the road. And don't waste your time calling GM, they won't do anything to help you. My suggestion, buy FORD and stay away from this place. Also please let me know through this forum if you have dealt with them, and if you have had negative responses or experiences, and if you are Hispanic. I am researching their level of customer care with Hispanic customers. Thanks. Cons: poor customer service, questionable technical expertise more
