I've boarded my horses at many different stables throughout the past eleven years and I have to say that this is the best barn we've ever been at. My horses are relaxed and happy. They have a bunch of great horse ""buddies"" to hang out with as they are turned out daily. And the other boarders are helpful and care about everyone's horses, always keeping an eye out for the safety and well-being of all the horses boarded there. I've been at this barn for almost two years now and I have absolutely no complaints.
This is not the fanciest barn I've been at. But to be honest, the really ""chichi"" places I've kept my horses at in the past (one place cost well over what we were paying for our own mortgage!) made my horses high-strung nervous wrecks. I'll take Mark's down-to-earth, hard-working, self-care barn any day over the superficial, snooty, ridiculous nonsense I've had to put up with at other places.
Close-in, access to great trails, indoor arena, outdoor arena, turn-out, hay storage, trailer parking, people who actually ride and have fun with their horses...everything you need! Be forewarned: there is ALWAYS a waiting list. I tried three times total over a period of five years before I was able to get a stall for one of my horses and then (luckily) eventually over time was able to bring in my other two.
Whoever left that negative review below was mistaken: the horses here are happy! They are well cared for by their owners every day. One down-side of a self-care barn is that the stalls are not all neatly cleaned, decked out in a row and ready-to-go first thing in the morning. People get to the barn when they can, but it's at least once a day. And that's the beauty of a self-care barn. We are the ones interacting and taking care of and spending time with our horses EVERY single day. Hands-on. Maybe not picture perfect...but honest and real.
