Great food, great service, as usual!!!!

Usually the food is enough to make a person go back, but our last experience spoiled it for us. We made a reservation for 5 of us. Table was waiting for us but hostess changed i...

Okay food- Rude Owner 3/29/2011

The food was decent enough- we have been going since it was Chef Bill's- and then Mark's for a while but had not been there for about ten years. When we did go the one thing that ruined my meal was seeing a manager berate a busperson for "chatting" with a customer instead of working. I knew the customer-our pastor- and he had caught the busperson by the hand and was just being very nice and the busperson would have been rude to not let him speak and just leave to bus more tables. Now, this was years ago too, but I just saw Mark's website and low and behold- the rude manager that night was MARK HIMSELF. Didn't recognize him from the Chef Bill days as he was a kid, but WOW- I am not patronizing his place again. Maybe he's changed by now, but reading how they cross of reservations in front of people in these reviews I doubt it. more

Wow, what a change! 11/18/2006

I am not sure what happened but I really need to do a new review on this restaurant! What a disappointment it was last night! We put our name on the list for a table and went into the bar to wait... after about 45 minutes and seeing everyone get seated all around us... I went back to the hostess to find out what happened to our table... they had crossed out our name!!! (We were in the bar the whole time with our number visible the whole time!!!) What the.... the girl then said we were next! 15 minutes later we finally had a table... still in the bar area, it was very loud and not the environment we normally enjoy when we go out for dinner! The fish fry we normally get was not as good and the shrimp we ordered were overcooked and the shrimp sauce was bland and not very tasty... so what has happened here? Mark's used to be the place to go for fish... It was very disappointing! Almost forgot the link... http://www.foodspot.com/markseastside/ more

Fish Fry 8/26/2006

Living in Wisconsin, I have been to my share of Fish Fry's. Mark's East side has a great all you can eat Haddock fish fry on Friday nights. We went last night and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was quite busy (always is on Fridays) but we had a table within 15 minutes and fast prompt service. I tried the Chicken Oscar-it was very good as well. I have only been at Marks on a Friday night however my husband works near this restaurant and goes for lunch on occasion so he has tried the German food as well... He highly recommends it. more
