If you want a real Beverly Hills haircut without the Beverly Hills attitude, not only can this girl cut hair, but she really listens, is very sweet and unpretentious. Rachelle has been cutting my hair for about 2 1/2 years. After years of searching for a good stylist, I am looking no more. I am really emotional and picky about my hair, so at first, I told her exactly what to do, she did it and she never got bent out about it either. However, I have now learned to totally relax, and I get something just a little more hip (I'm old enough to be her Mother). You can take a picture and she can make it happen, or just rely on her expertise and she will figure out what you need. I wish everyone made my life so stress free! Let me start by saying that I have been to the best of the best is Los Angeles. All the ""Best of Citysearch"" salons...been to them. I actually walked into Mark's salon for the first time nearly in tears from a horrible dye job done by a celebrity stylist in Los Angeles. I was really nervous letting Mark touch my hair because I had just gotten such a bad job done. Mark listened very carefullly to me, he calmed my nerves and then gave me the BEST COLOR I have ever had! I have a very difficult shade of red and not only did he make it look healthy and natural, you would never know I had anything bad done the day before. His salon is beautiful, his partner David is so nice and the other staff could not be more sweet. If you are looking for super high quality hair styling in Los Angeles without the diva attitude and shamefully high prices...GO TO MARK. I don't usually write reveiws or believe them, but my tremendous experience with Mark Slicker compelled me to write this review. From the minute you step into the beautiful space which Mark Slicker and his wonderful partner David have created, you have given yourself a wonderful moment. The space is a lovely environment in which you relax : you will be given a delicious Latte to drink. The lovely Mark greets you, and carefully LISTENS to what you want. Somehow, Mark has the ability to hear what you want and make your hair look better than you EVER THOUGHT IT COULD: There is a reason for that -- Mark is a Genius, truly talented, and only interested in making you look your best. When Mark was finished with my hair, I was so excited that I began jumping in place and saying ""LOOK At My Hair."" In a town where so many stylists are talentless frauds with major attitude, Mark and David have created a truly wonderful space for the woman who wants to look HER BEST. If you make an appointment with Mark, you will have the hair of you dreams and a wonderful expereince. Mark and David have my highest possible recommendation. Mark Slicker is a Master at his craft. He welcomes you in with his Southern Charm, and then in an instant you are seated comfortably in one of the most fresh, trendy and homey environments. You feel as though you may be in his living room and you are receiving a personal cut or color! Right away he gains your trust by being very professional but always sincere, no LA Attitude going on here! Mark has cut my hair for a while now, I followed him from the John Frieda Salon. He is one of the only two people that can actually cut my curly hair and make it look amazing. He understands hair, especially the unruly ones! I have referred many other curly-haired friends and they are just as satisfied as I am. He is worth every penny! more
