The Mark is my favorite restaurant in Oly, no question. All of the food is freshly prepared, local, organic, great tasting. The steak is awesome, the pastas are handmade, and the goat cheese salad is a favorite. The grilled bread is my favorite weakness. I leave feeling satisfied, healthy, and happy!
On sunny days or warm nights you can sit out on the back patio, which is one of few outdoor areas in Olympia. Also during the summer, they open up the doors on the ""red room"" side and it becomes a fun, chill atmosphere.
The staff there is not stuffy (I don't know where this came from). They make great, unique drinks, as well as my favorite standbys. The music is chill, and there are lots of places to sit and talk, lounging with your friends. It is not a club, so you can actually have a conversation. All ages are comfortable.
We had our wedding reception there and people are still commenting on it a year later. For us, it wasn't even a question. We got our favorite food in a fun lounge atmosphere, and the owner was so easy to work with us to make it a custom party. It was the most fun wedding I have ever been to. :)
Seriously, go. Order a drink, hang with your friends, and enjoy! Whether you are with the girls, the guys, date night, or a bunch of friends, its the place to be.
