My son just started Kindergarten after spending three years at Maritime Day School. The professionalism, the dedication and kindness of the teachers/staff have fully prepared him for the next big step that was Kindergarten. As a parent, I always felt welcome and involved in the school`s day to day life. The teachers communicated very well with me about my son .Over the years, the teachers have demonstrated many times their pedagogical skills . Who cares about the owner`s educational background ; she is not the person in charge of the children. At the end, my child learnt A LOT in the caring environment provided by the school and yes, the teacher ARE trained and experienced. more

Indeed! what a unpleasant experience with this particular preschool! Well,more specific it is NOT the school itself-as personnel-teachers and assistants are polite and kind,however the owner-She shall definitively keep her-so called Law skills for that purpose,instead of talking and behaving in such a place in a manner unethical and uncompromising with an environment which shall definitely be warm and compassionate! I will strongly NOT recommend this particular institution for ANY child! ...and for those interested on a warm and kind,caring individual and her cute/private environment I will gladly Rx-Ms.Maureen Radigan School which it is located in the town of Southold,not too far from the Cutchogue-"" Maritime Day School""! more

Nice trained teachers, child loves it 11/22/2011

My girl loves going to this preschool, and I think she has learned more in the time she has been there than my son did at the church preschool he went to. The teacher makes the time to individually greet the children and brief the parents at the beginning and end of the day of what has been covered and how the child has behaved, and the progress is clear to me. In contrast, although I am attached to my church, the teachers were not trained and could not adequately deal with problems with the children interacting with one another (of course the church was less expensive for this reason). The teacher puts a lot of time into the lesson plans and I am happy with the experience. more

Used to be GREAT! Now it's not even close. 9/15/2011

This school was THE BEST in the area for it's first couple of years. It was well run and focused on the children and their families. Today, under the new ownership, who has NO experience as an educator (plenty as an attorney) and who doesn't even send their OWN children to the school, it has lost its way. It is a real shame. The former ownership (and I mean a specific owner) had the right idea and executed it perfectly. Bring back the original owership!!!! more

Bad experience 9/14/2011

My children went here for a year. While some of the teachers are wonderful overall I would not recommend the school. The communication and administrative aspects of the school were horrendous. There was always a drama. Gossip there was worse than back when I was in high school. There is now a new owner who is a lawyer, not an educator. Insiders at the school have told me that internally there is a feeling of chaos and uncertainty. There are better choices in the area that will certainly provide peace of mind not available at this school. more
