Preschool Fun! 12/16/2005

The Maritime Aquarium is a great local 'hangout' for the preschool crowd. The hands-on touch tank, the cool sharks, the changing interactive exhibits & Imax movies, and especially the soft playscape area for children 5 and under, make this a cold or rainy day destination sure to please young ones as well as their parents! Family membership is a reasonable and sound investment. Try to avoid school vacations & weekends as much as possible. It gets busy! Late afternoons seem to be quieter than mornings. more

Something fishy's happening here! 8/20/2005

For such a small aquarium the Maritime Aquarium is a lot of fun! The displays are wonderfully arranged and they have a large variety of animals. The layout of the museum keeps your attention and allows visitors to spread out a bit. And they have a petting pool for sting rays (my favorite part!). The Maritime Aquarium is also available for private parties, my husband's company had their holiday party here last winter and the atmosphere was perfect. more

Sea and See 8/19/2005

Of all the local museums, parks, nature centers, and other places I would take the kids, the Aquarium has always been my family’s favorite. We love animals and are devotees of the Long Island Sound. The exhibits throughout the years have been consistently interesting to both adults and children (especially important when you are seeing it for the fifth time!) and it is always worth a trip to just watch the octopuses. Keep the Aquarium in mind when you are looking for a fun time for the whole family. more
