Not a good experience 3/29/2012

I hate to be the one to raise a dissenting voice but I had a very bad experience with altering the collar on a very expensive suit. He claims it is because the newer suits do not leave him enough material to work with, but whatever the cause, the result was that one side of the lapel looks different and the middle of the collar looks like he had to sew something in the middle, leaving a bump. On top of that, he charged me way too much ($160 for fixing collar, raising coat sleeves and making pant cuffs). I asked him before how much it would be, but he started rambling about other things and I never got an answer. The other alterations to the suit were OK but I will not take anything there again. more

Simply the Best 3/10/2011

I never thought having my suits tailored could be that much fun. From the second you walk into Mario?s little shop, you are treated like an old friend. Not only that, but you become friends with everyone else who happens to be in the shop. In the short time I was there, I met people from all over - ranchers from Wyoming, businessmen from Greece, returned LDS missionaries?. Apparently, people come from all over to this otherwise obscure little shop for both the service and charm that Mario provides. more

Nothing compares to Mario's Professional Tailor 5/3/2010

Bravo Mario! In my opinion, as well for many other customers, in SLC Mario is the best for alterations. I live both in Florence, Italy, and in Salt Lake. When in SLC, I have tried other alterations businesses, but I always go back to Mario when I need my american and italian clothes adjusted. He knows how to make customers happy, with his excellent quality work. It comes to no surprise, since he acquired his skills back in Italy, starting working in tailoring when he was only 10 years old. Mario came to Utah to work as an all around tailor, to do tailoring work, from A to Z, primarily making suits for high-end customers (business people, lawyers, and the like). Mario says that to make good alterations one has to know how to make a suit first. This statement of his finds validation in the excellent alterations he is able to make. Keep up your excellent work, Mario, for many more years to come! more

Earning a loyal customer 2/28/2008

Mario is truly what he advertises to be: Professional. He is a very charming man who values his customer's opinions. He proves such by catering to their wishes. I was very impressed. Well done Mario! You have earned a loyal customer for many years to come. Pros: His shop is small enough to allow one-on-one contact with him directly Cons: It's hard to find because the sign for the complex has small print more

What a great find! 3/9/2007

Mario is perhaps the nicest gentleman you will ever meet. It's obvious that the success of the place comes from quality customer service and decades of experience. more
