I used to go with my grandfather to Mario's when I was a little kid, and I had fond memories of the place, so when my boyfriend and I were looking for a family friendly restaurant that wasn't a chain to take his five year old son to, Mario's was my suggestion. The wait staff was very nice, and we were seated right away. I put the kids order in right away, and we ordered about five minutes later. It took them 25 minutes to bring us our soup and salad. The soup was bland, and the peppercorn salad dressing tasted like slightly flavored mayonnaise ( I should have known something was fishy when I asked for creamy Italian dressing and they told me they don't have that..really at an Italian restaurant?!) . They also brought out the kids meal at this point, although it was a generous portion of spaghetti, the meatball looked greasy and it was pink in the middle. I had the calamari marinara, now I love garlic, but the giant chunks of it in the sauce made it inedible. You would think with all that garlic that the marinara would be flavorful, but it was absolutely bland and my calamari resembled a rubberband in both appearance and texture. Over all I was not impressed.
