Poor customer relations 4/6/2011

I received a gift certificate to the Mariner Grill as a thank you from my students. An hour before we left for the restaurant, I called to confirm that I could use the gift certificate. I was told that you can “always use gift certificates”. Once we finished eating we were (not so politely) informed that we could not in fact use the gift certificate. When we said that we had called to verify that we could, the manager/owner laughed and told us that it didn’t matter. I was disappointed in the way the staff handled the situation. It seems customer relations are not important to the staff and owner of the Mariner Grill. more
