Watch Out For These Guys. 3/5/2012

I had a Catalina 27 in the harbor for over 20 years between my father and me. Eventually my used was limited so I sold the boat. It was in the same marina as the boats that were in the Marina Sailing Fleet. I had figured it was cheaper then owning my own sail boat and they acutely told me it would be so. They lied. Boy did they lie. I wish I had kept my Catalina 27. It was much older then the boats they had in the fleet but after Chartering a few of their sailboats, the boat I sold, 30 years old, and their much newer boats were in poor condition. They also charged much more then their advertised rate. What ever they tell you don’t believe them. They have a way to tell you the grass is green when there is not grass at all. We would use a boat once or twice a month. I was told that overall their program would be less then what I used to pay for slip fees and a bottom cleaning. NOT THE CASE. THEY LIE TO YOU. The rates they show is not what they charge. The $200 half day rate turned out to be $1,000 per month. That was only using their smaller boat ( a Catalina 28) boat 2 afternoons or what they called ½ day rate. My boat was paid for and the montly slip fee was less then $300 per month. Part of the time on the Chartered Marina Sailing boat was spent cleaning it up so I could use it with my wife. They do not take care of the boats that are in their fleet. They are always filthy and several time out I had to do emergency repairs to the boat to get back into the harbor. When I got my credit card bill it was hit for 2 to 3 times more then what they told my the charge was going to be. When I asked about it they always had some excuse but never made sense. I know this one guy that rented one of the boats for a 3 day mid week deal that was supposed to be $1035 for the three days including the tax. He did not realize they hit his card for $1,450. Whey he inquired about it they said it was for insurance. I had to pay insurance on the boat when I used it but it was only $10 per day. These guys are a RIP OFF. Don’t believe then. They are only interested in sucking the cash out of your pocket. They are dishonest. When I told them I did not want to continue they kept charging my credit card. This place is bad news. Stay away from Marina Sailing. more

BEST PLACE TO LEARN HOW TO SAIL 8/9/2011

THESE GUYS HAVE 6 LOCATIONS, AND YOU CAN TAKE YOUR LESSONS AT ANY ONE OF THEM. THEIR INSTRUCTORS ARE ASA (AMERICAN SAILING ASSOC) CERTIFIED, AND FIRENDLY TO BOOT. I GOT MY ASA 101, 103, AND 104 CERTIFICATIONS WITH THEM AND WILL BE A MEMBER FOR LIFE. more

Stay Away from these guys. Run Away if you see them 6/7/2011

I had our boat in there fleet for charter. They promised to make sure the people that rent the boats knew what they are doing and they would take care of my boat. It was in their management for many years. The people that rent the boats have caused a lot of damage. During my experence with them two of the renters hit the rocks with two different boats causing $40,000 damage to my boat and another boat $20,000 damage. The marina sailing management would not collect from the renter for the time the boat was not availible for hire during the repairs. The cleaning staff used abrasives on the stainless steal causing a dull scratched finish. The manager they have at this office does not even know how to control a boat. These people really have no business being around yachts and or boats. I would not turst them with my kid's skate board. They do NOT respect your property. The information on their web site is a lie. Don't get caught with these scam people. One of their Instructors is not certified as they publish. They actually have this guy sign your book as a ASA certifed instructor buy is not. more

Bad news for boat owners 6/5/2011

I was very displeased with this management company. The allowed the renters to damage the boat without collecting for what it took to fix the items. Our boat took a beating like it was 1 5 years old. It was new and their ""members"" broke into locked cabinets, burned holes in the cockpit cushions, broke out gel coat and when it came to them paying for the use it took them 60 days and it was short many time. One freind that i had use my boat (the only one that took care of it) was charged $300 over the going published rate and Marina Sailing showed us as owners they discounted the rate to the renter much under the normal published rate. Then they paid us on the lower rate. Really they were stealing from us. They have done this to other owners as well. Don't trust what you read on their web site. It is so far from the truth. Their ""club members"" have run the boats into rocks and docks causing severe damage. If you must put your boat in charter don't use these guys. more
