We have been visiting Alamo, for years and my family has been for more than 30 years and we make it a point to eat at Margo's, great food and a wonderful family owned restaurant. My dad told us that in the 1980 s when he was at Margo s for dinner they had Clint Eastwood and other s come in for dinner, which was really cool. We injoy the food and the serves, great staff. more

I grew up in Alamo and now live in NYC. Whenever I am home, I HAVE to go. They, by far, make the best guacamole ever. Can't wait for Thanksgiving when I go home to visit more

The enchilada's with crema sauce are the best New Mexican food in Alamogordo. Every body has tacos and burritos - I mean everybody has them. But only Margo's has the enchiladas with crema sauce - a real taste treat. more

Wow, this place was terrific! My friends are I drove through on our way out of town after camping at White Sands National Monument. All we wanted was a breakfast burrito after drinking wine all night in the middle of the sand dunes. But alas, we didn't know that we could find one circa 8 AM, but thank god, Margo's was open and ready for us. Maggie, the server, was wonderful and helped us with everything. The breakfast burrito with red sauce was great (what my friends got...). I got the chilaquiles, so, so yummy, and I'm picky about chilaquiles too. It came with refried beans and very tasty, not to mention crispy hash browns. What a delicious combination. Paired with their incredible salsa. YUM!\r \r Basically, what I'm saying is the service was great. The food even better. Now I just wish that I didn't live so far away. If you ever find yourself in Alamogordo or on your way out of the White Sands Monumnet, stop for Margo's, you won't be disappointed. more

I use to go to this restaurant 30 years ago when I lived in the area and wanted to stop by an old favorite while in town again. While trying to find it online, I saw the 3 star review and was very hesitant to stop in. We decided to eat there anyways and we were happy we did. We were greeted upon arrival and seated quickly. Our waitress was extremely friendly and answered our menu questions. Our drinks were always full, as were the chips and salsa. Our food came promptly and we all loved it! I had a chicken burrito with green sauce, husband had a chicken quesadillas and the kids had beans burritos and frys. Everything was right on. Don't let the star rating detour you. I'm big on reading reviews but don't feel this one is accurate, check it out for yourself. more

A breakfast just spicy enough to get your attention and bring out the flavors. From the fresh tortillas to the vibrant verde sauce, everything was spot on. The service was fast and friendly. Spoke with the manager who had an easy, friendly way about him. I don't normally give fives but, thanks Margo's, we'll be back more

I ate here with my fiancee last time I was in Alamogordo and the food was good and came out quickly. The portions are pretty big and we left completely stuffed. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. more

These are some of the nicest, most hospitable people you'll ever meet. Not to mention that the food is delicious, fresh, and served hot. \r We (DH and I) rolled in to Alamogordo late on a Monday evening. This town truly does roll up the sidewalks at 8 pm. Or earlier. We called around looking for a restaurant (after checking Yelp :-)). A man answered the phone at Margo's; I asked how late they served. ""Till 8:30,"" he said. I laughed and said ""I guess we'll miss ya, cuz it's 8:29. Can you suggest somewhere for a couple of out-of-town visitors?"" He said, ""Well, it looks like our OPEN sign just happens to still be lit. Whaddaya know. Just come over, and we'll take care of you."" \r By the time we got there, we'd decided to get carry-out, so his staff wouldn't have to go home late. He wouldn't hear of it. ""I won't have you sitting in your motel room eating out of a box,"" he said. \r So we had a really great meal, served by an attentive waitress who called us ""hon"" and ""dear"".\r So enjoy the food (the red chile is really tasty, very subtly spiced and not mouth-searing hot (speaking chile-wise)), and tip well. These folks, and the food they serve, are the Real Deal. more
