Mardi Gras Casino West Virginia

This casino is about an hour and a half drive for us, but we decided to go and check it out. My mother and her girlfriend are seniors so we chose to go on Thursday to take advantage of Senior activities and discounts. It is easy to find and the parking was great. We first went to sign up for the players cards and we were not given any explanations about benefits. The woman helping us clearly did not want to answer our questions and it seemed as if we were interrupting her (we were the only people in line). One of the senior activities is a drawing every half hour to spin a wheel for casino cash, and my mom was called to spin the wheel. She ""won"" $10 casino cash which downloads to your card and it took us two trips to the desk and two hours to actually get the money. We expected high prices for dining but the food wasn't very good so a big disappointment. We never did find a ""server"" to offer us drinks, and overall did not have a pleasant experience. Our thoughts are, well maybe we will try again in a year and see if they have improved their service! more

My wife and I have stayed here at lease 6 times in the last year since it opened. First, our room was a queen not the king that we reserved. When I spoke with the manager I was surprised to get flack, she was very argumentative. Saying the rooms were the same price, and they were full and couldn't move us. I was also told that we could not have booked a king room since we called a week prior and they were sold out of king rooms for 2 weeks. I know that the girl I spoke with said that they had everything available. We got no relief. You think that a multi million dollar operation would offer up some type of comp or a discount but, Nope, not even an apology. more

We visited Marti Gras August 2010 for my hubbies birthday. We normally go to Cherokee nc when we can get away. We like Marti Gras so much better. They have live tables, not computers and they really appriciate you being there. the drive is only 1 hour more from our home in NC and well worth it. Give them a try. you will never go back to Cherokee. Can't wait to go back in March for the poker tournament. love you guys more
