Hello I want to comment the 9A location. I don't know why everyone's complainig about it. Here's a few starters for those who complained about that place. Tell me where else in Jacksonville are you going to find Garlic knots or pinwheels? Also there are not too many places serving sicilian either. I have been to these so called N.Y pizzaria's like Al's and Renna's and they certainly do not have this in there establishments. Now I too am an ex New yorker from the Island and this place is as good if not better than most places I have been to up there. Secondly cosider what I just said earlier where are you goign to find pinwheels and garlic knots in Jacksonville. I hope all of you will consider this before posting another thumbs down review on someone. I have pearsonally eaten in this establishment and I love it there. Secondly to keep in true N.Y tradition there is a Carvell Icecream store right next door. I have lived here for almost 6 years and this is the first place to have anything like garlic knots pinwheels etc... I visit up north often and this is just as good if not better. This review is for Brooklyn Pizza at Baymeadows and 9A. I went to school in New York so I know what New York style Pizza should be like. The first time I went to this joint, I thought the Pizza was probable the closest thing I can get to New York pizza. But that was about it. The last 4 or more times that I came back the pizza was like any other pizza in town. You know the one. They call themselves New York pizza but it doesn't even come close. The only thing I can think of my first experience was the manager claim the pie makers were from Brooklyn. This is probable true because the first Pizza was pretty darn good. I lived in Jersey for over 25 yrs and grew up on New Style Pizza and even worked in a pizza joint as a young adult and have tasted the best NY Pizza in the world and the so called Brooklyn Pizza can't even come close. I oredered a large meatlovers pizza at the Point Meadows new store it was horrible. Under cooked, very little cheese, dry, cheese was cheap no oils at all. Yes there was a nice portion of diff meats but it cost $20 dollars which is riduculous . Sorry guys, but you have some nerve calling yourselves Brooklyn Pizza unless your referring to Brooklyn, Iowa !!!!!!!!!!!! Tony and Angela are the sweethearts of Jax pizza. They are real Italians from Bari, Italy by way of N.Y., who make REAL ITALIAN N.Y. PIZZA. The place is spotless. The pizza will bring a tear to your eye if you are from N.Y. ""You CAN go home again!!!"" And, now I heard that they are opening a second location at the Kohl's shopping center on I-95. The traditional pizzeria is not a restaurant in the sense that it has tablecloths and mood lighting. It has to be clean, well lit, and stocked with the few necessary spices that are used with pizza: crushed peppers, cheese, and oregano. I think their pizza is the best. I know the owner and he is the one who started all the Renna's around Jax, then sold them. He cooks better than any of the other Renna's in town. He is the original and it is definately the best! Pros: A true italian feast Cons: Not very romantic more
