Mansions South

For the FAA folks...I wouldn't choose Mansions South for short term..just my preference as you don't get to keep the difference as you do on long term. But for long term schools, it's one of my favorite apartment complexes to stay at. The $35.00 rate for the 1 bedroom means the $55.00 remaining is yours to keep ($90.40 is the current daily rate). So the cheaper you can stay, the more you can pocket. The apartments aren't the greatest, but they do have washers and dryers. It is gated, and I feel it's in a better neighborhood than Walnut, Merdian, or some others. The apartments are somewhat roomy, and have interior entrances. Internet is pretty good. is on the shuttle stop. Have free beer. Not bad for the money. \r Now if money isn't an option, Corporate Solutions may be a better bet, as they offer Providence Place on McCarthur or Highland Pointe in Yukon, and will cost you about $50 a night, but are much newer. more

So this is our first foray to OK for FAA training. We came here with 2 cats and the two of us. After an EPIC cross country move, then back halfway across to stay here, I had no idea what to expect when opening the door to our apt. I was SO pleased when I saw the place. Way more than I thought we would get. The ONLY issue that is serious is the bed. It's horrible! I'd request this apartment every time we come back but that bed is destroying me, not sure if any other units have the same problem. Whatever. We deal with it lol. We are on the side of the apts; directly across to a small ""farm""... This has nothing to do with the Mansions South of course, but it's a weird feeling to wake up to rooster chatter at 3:00 am. A fan on all night takes away the sound. I don't see myself looking for anywhere else to stay while here. Oh and this place has one amazingly cool thing that nowhere else does: Miss Betty!!!!!!!!! Ms Betty is here at Mansion South with her new staff & crew; she left Winchester Run due to poor management and standing up for her FAA residents. The owner fired her for doing such and now she is at MANSIONS SOUTH; as a FAA research analyst, I only stay at MANSIONS SOUTH & I recommend all my fellow FAA friends to book this place when you visit OKC. Winchester lost a good person who knows how to treat FAA like family...ask for no other than Ms Betty Blair (405) 799-8481...WE LOVE HER ALWAYS!!! more

my wife & I stayed here last month for 2 weeks. It was the pits. Looked like vagrants work there. Cleaning ladies were asked repeatedly to clean our unit better. Smelled like mildew, stained carpet throughout, floor in kitchen was sticky, frig had mold growing on the side of it. Come out on Sunday to go to church & our 5 yr old stepped on a pile of feces on the sidewalk. Left & went to another location. Not worth it especially if you have families. Plus the highway noise, non stop. Pros: not much Cons: dirty, old mildew smell, feces on the sidewalks more

Ok think I speak for my compadres, when I say its the luck of the draw here...some apts nicer than others...But overall, if your looking for a super clean, place, with hskpg (even biwkly), this is Not the place. Pros: no insects, decent staff, sm pool, usually pretty calm Cons: old, some must/mildew, some items in disrepair more

I was told, Betty: retired, she's a class act and a great person, she is, warm caring, and charming. (PS) classmate told me she retired, but went to Winchester? Pros: Great Place to reside at in Moore Cons: Had to be escourted to find dewllings. more

I stayed with Betty for 15 years @ Manions and then went to stay w/her @ Winchester after I heard everyone left. The apts there made for midgets, regular tenants of all sorted kinds mingled w/ us, and dog doo was everywhere! I am going back to Mansions just because of that. I can deal the wicked witch from the office because the food has been great and they are now offering free beer! Plus she seems of late to have taken some ""happy"" pills. Pros: Nice chat w/Betty Cons: cramped quarters & dog doo more

I too have recently stayed at Mansion South, I realized that there was new staff present I was told that Betty was retiring but after talking with the new manager Julia that is what all the new staff was told julia is very pleasent and helpful i feel that she will be just fine with time. The new changes are happening I am very impressed thus far with what is happening with the remoldeling of the apartments , they are really cleaning this place up inside and out i love how quiet this community is which is helpful with all the studying that we all do Love the FREE BEER and a Great home cooked meal on thursday (that just doesn't last long enough) as per the rest of the staff all i can say is I haven't met a staff person one that has not been very helpful and willing. Betty B & Co are now at Winchester Run Apts. Sad but I was told she retired to find out from my instructor that she never did. Rumors are being circulated by someone over at Mansions. Mansions changed after Betty left. Only 2 people were the same, Tony and Nick. I was really disappointed when I moved in. I called the office 3 times, went in 2 times and still have never heard from the manager. She's never there! Used to be with Betty whatever you needed, she saw too it. I couldn't get a decent rental car. Was given some hunk of rust that smoked. The apt they put me in needs newer carpet, newer furniture, newer appliances. Winchester has flat screens, wifi, & covered parking. If your in the FAA, you need to go there. Not here anymore. Pros: Nice security guard Cons: no Betty more

I have also stayed at Mansions recently. Yes, Ms. Betty B has not retired and most of her crew went with her to her new location. The only employee that stayed was Maintenence Nick. The facilities are improving and the free beer certainly helps! The new manager, Julia, is not very personable but the old maintenence guy Nick will still take care of you, so the ride isn't so bumpy. Pros: The only one is that the old maintenence man, Nick is still there. Oh, the beer! Cons: Snippy manager, doesn't have good people skills more

I too have been a loyal customer of Masions South. I have only stayed at 1 other apartment complex while in OKC. I was unaware of the Change of Command with Betty and Co. I am scheduled to go to OKC in April 09 for a few weeks and have already reserved a room at there. If anyone has information to where Betty and CO. is, please post! more

Stayed at this place for 10 years. It used to be run by Betty Blair. Just stayed there and it was this most disorganized place. Betty Blair and crew had left. We were told she ""retired"". She went to a different place, she NEVER retired, the owners lied. In addition, the place is not being kept up. The furniture wobbles, looks like its from a garage sale. The bedding was stained, the apt was so/so cleaned. Bathroom was but kitchen was not. Grease everywhere. Doorknob fell off of closet. Used to be with Betty, you could request where you wanted to be, upstairs, in the back etc. Not the case now. I was taken to a apt, somebody was already in it. Did not want upstairs due to my obvious physical imparements, but was put upstairs. We left, we went to Betty's new place. These people lie. Pros: some staff is nice, maintenence and security. Cons: location, age and liars more
