I call and make appointment with a {senior} for hair cut. When i went they inform me that the girl wasn't there. I said that is fine and i ask if they had another senior to cut my hair. The owner told me that another senior was available. I show her a picture before she started from a previous haircut and told her that is how i like my hair. The hair cut is layers covering my ears completely and about a half inch below.When she was done and i put my glasses on, i cried.I almost had no hair. They were cut so short with my whole ears expose. I had no bangs,my hair was sticking up and out,they were cut more than 3 inches shorter that the picture. is going to take 6 months or more for them to grow to the length that i wanted. The instructor did not even come around once all the time she was cutting my hair.When i told her she butcher my hair,she said if you wanted a good haircut you needed to go to a regular salon.I pay for SENIOR hair cut and left.I call the next day and talk to Mr Manning and he took my phone number to see what can be done. I never hear back from him. 3 weeks past i still embarrassing, i had to go and buy a wig. I will not recommend this place to anyone and i will NEVER go back. more

AND my student-professional listens to my needs to keep me from looking frumpy with stylish cuts and easy care tips.\r \r * AND my BIG TREAT~ is a European facial, MICRO CURRENT to tone saggy skin and neck, and my eye brows shaped in their Spa Skin Care Center a few times a year. I feel pampered, beautiful and rich---even tho' I pinch penny's to spend on having a beautiful yard & garden---it's important to take care of me too even tho' I cannot afford the cost of higher priced Salons or Day Spa's.\r \r You can have full confidence in the student professional---THEY ARE NOT NOVICES~ the students spend months gaining knowledge and experience to become advanced professionals before serving customers as a Stylist, Colorist, Esthetician, or Nail Technician. \r \r If you're new to receiving services from a student be assured Manning's instructors (including Jeff Manning, the owner) are superb and very professionally interactive with monitoring and oversight of each student as they've interact with their clients. \r \r NOTE: Plan to spend a longer time to receive your selected service at Manning Academy because MULTIPLE INSTRUCTORS WILL COME to give tips on ""how to do something more efficiently"" or make sure you are pleased with the level of service you are receiving---I am grateful to live in an area with a beauty school where customers like myself benefit from reduced prices on all services AND know they won't leave looking like Orphan Annie. more

This school is very caring! I needed a color touch up and hair cut before Christmas. I new I might not be able to get because they always have a lot of clients but i went in anyway. The front desk was so gracious and managed to get me in!! All the students were so friendly and seem to love being at this school. The instructors were very professional and helpful. Maybe i should become a hair dresser! Thanks everyone at Manning Academy! more

This school is the BEST! I love the instructors. They take time to really work with you. We also have a lot of clients so that we can practice on real people! I highly recommend this school to anyone thinking of doing hair. Oh yes they also train in skin care. They have an AMAZING spa center that is so cool. more

I love this school! My girlfriend goes to this academy and she really likes the structure of the school and she has learned a lot! They are always busy and get lots of practice. I got my hair cut and hi lighted and it was really, really great! Mom sister is now coming here as well. I give this school 5 stars! more

0 stars for this place! THEY BUTCHERED MY HAIR AND DIDN'T offer to refund my 8 dollars! I went in for a trim and layers around the face and the guy (Who hardly understood me) cut huge layers with the help of an ""instructor"" in half, YES half of my hair! HORRIBLE hairstylists, it was really obvious the guy had no idea what he was doing (or the instructor) and when I asked him how long he'd been working in shool BEFORE he got to cut actual people's hair was merely 1 month. DO not go here unless you would like to spend the next year growing out what they will screw up! more

I highly recommend this academy for anyone interested in becoming a hair professional, nail tech, or esthetician. I completed all three programs and got an amazing education in all areas. They are all about hands on and they have a huge client base! I was also well prepared for all of my state board tests. I can't thank them enough for changing my life. P.S. their services are amazing and great prices! more

You could not do better anywhere else. Hands down this is the school for you. Great environment, kind loving staff that will show you more then the basics, WONDERFUL clients and the owners of the school are hands on. Your education is what you make of it. At Manning you will get class every day and training all day long. I am so glad I found them! more

I have to agree with Shoppercrazy when she commented on this academy being a best kept secret. I have had services in the cosmetology and manicuring part of the school but it wasn't until recently I had a facial at their Spa center. Wow! It looks like a high end spa, I mean nice and the student who did my facial seemed a pro. What the heck? Who knew that for 25.00 I could actually improve the appearance of my skin in one visit. She did an incredible peel and light therapy treatment. I will be making a monthly visit at Manning Academy Spa. Thank you so much! more

I have gone to Manning Academy several times over the past year and every experience has been wonderful. The staff and students are very professional and make me feel comfortable. I've gotten my hair cut/colored, mani/pedi, facials and waxing. I booked a mani/pedi party there for my soon-to-be married friend and all the bridesmaids and we had a blast! They were very accommodating, despite us showing up 15 minutes late. I would recommend the services to everyone. My friend's daughter is currently attending school there and is loving every moment of it! She said it's the best choice she has made and is excited to start her career. more

If you are thinking about attending beauty school this is the one hands down !!!! They treat the students like they are family, always there for you. The education is awesome I felt like I could do any hair service with confidence right after graduating. We were given advanced training in our senior year that made me hireable the day I graduated. I love the owners and teachers I will miss being in school... Thanks Manning I will be forever grateful and so glad I chose you !!! more

ha, where to start with manning. i USED to go to this school. and let me tell you, they don't care about your education there, you get in the freshman classroom and you get told to open your book and take notes, and the instructor leaves us back there alone. they don't care about your learning there, at all. they just try to get as many students are they can. cause they just want the money. it's very unorganized in there, way to many students to have the right teaching, the good one on one teaching, there's like 25+ students to one instructor, and then you have the cadets there, that act like they know everything about hair, but don't explain, they just expect you to know everything, and there is one that is disrespectful and will tell you that you aren't going to be successful if you have tattoos are gauges. This school like i said, doesn't care about anything but getting that monthly paycheck. pathetic. more

Hello, I agree with Nowayjose.I get the same excuses everytime(call back, no one here to cut hair, we are not open,we are closing early).I do love the job they do but yeah I can't wait around forever.I am confused how their students get enough hours to be able to graduate. So are they open to the public or are they not. So if you need a haircut I would try somewhere else you can get into.I understand this is a school but SHEESH!!!!! I wish them all good luck at this school but they are gonna need it... more

I have called the last 4 days in a row. I am told they don't have anyone and to call the next day. I'm done. They obviously don't need our money or referrals. I've already made sure that no one I know goes there. Thanks for nothing. Cons: Sucky service more

They always made us stress about money issues other than learning issues even if we were there 13 hours a day! Pros: Ok overall school Cons: All they care about is your money more

I went to this school a while ago and it was perfect for me. The instructors were really good. I now have a great career. They teach you lots of new trends too. more
